Replying to my own question here... A basic driver for the Smart Implant was discovered over on this thread:

The driver seems to be working for me in detecting the states of the 2x inputs, and for independently controlling the states of the 2x outputs. The driver could definitely do with some TLC, but I'm pretty happy to have this basic functionality working as is
