I have a single Wyze v3 camera that monitors the inside of my house (my other ones point outside). Originally I was using a rule and WyzeHub to use Wyze's API to turn on and off the camera. It is only on when HSM is set to Armed Away. But who knows if it really turns off the camera.
That's when I decided to physically power down the camera, and only power it on when HSM is Armed Away.
In fact, that is the use case for the smart plug I was asking about in this thread - it is the Wyze v3 I'm controlling.

Reminds me of a discussion I had years ago with an Agency Chief of Security. Chief was complaining that one of my staff had brought in a knife to cut lettuce for a salad and explaining to me that weapons weren't permitted on agency grounds, to which I grabbed a ballpoint pin from the holder and pressed it against their throat and explained that every office on my floor had at least a dozen "weapons" available if you knew what to look for. Agency Director was a little shocked but the conversation was concluded without further mention of salads and knives...
