A couple of things you may want to consider:
- There are a couple of Calendar drivers, @bptworld 's may be worth a look. Whether or not you can style it appropriately I am not sure....
[RELEASE] gCalendar Driver - Display working Google Calendars on HE Dashboards - Take a look at @cometfish 's BOM weather driver, If you aren't using it already. This includes an icon relating to the current conditions
It also has the forecast overnight / tomorrow, but I don't believe it can download the forecast for 7 days at the moment. I intend to take another look at this myself at some point.
- You could look at my Formatted Date / Time driver to format the display of these how you want, or you can also look at @jshimota 's driver
- Dashboard links will be easy enough
- For cycling the background image, the Conditional Image Server driver may be worth a look
