ZSE50 is a new chime siren from Zooz.
Sound files can be uploaded.
On sale. Beta firmware.
Anyone have it yet?
Driver prospects?
edit:

@jtp10181 you doing the driver?
I have not seen Jeff on here in a while, hope he is OK. @jtp10181
I was actually on a wilderness canoe/camping trip last week. Felt good to totally disconnect for a week and when I got back I avoided my computer until I had to go back to work.
I have a ZSE50 here, will be doing a driver at some point. Hopefully Hubitat has basic support in the works. I have some other priorities for Zooz I have been working on, so have not been working on Hubitat stuff as much recently.
Glad to hear you were able to get away from things for a bit!
I have 2 coming so I hope we get a driver soon. ![]()
My universal scanner should work to configure it.
[RELEASE] Z-Wave Universal Device Scanner
From there, maybe one of the other zwave chime/siren drivers will give it basic functionality for now.
I ordered a few too to get in on the intro pricing, but I plan to leave them all NIB until all you other brave souls kick the tires ![]()
As it's a nicer size and more understated than the 3R nightlight, I hope to use these primarily as a LED notifier, so fingers'-crossed that a 'setLED' command (or similar equivalent) will be available in the driver (sooner or later)
Didn't even know it had the LED indicator... I was wondering what those lines were for. Even neater of a device than I originally thought.
As you can tell mine has barley made it out of the box and I still need to do the SmartThings driver. Those are not done for free, so it sort of takes priority.
Right on! I realize now what I wrote can be read as a thinly-veiled "nudge-nudge" but that honestly wasn't my intent.
Until folks get a chance to put this thing through some paces, nobody really knows what it can do -- it's a unique new animal for sure!
Great pricing compared to a similar product I have. Love the led options in the advanced section of the docs. Plays mp3s also. Curious to open one up and see the battery and speaker. Anyone have a teardown?
Multi color led, nice. I wonder how bright.
16mB capacity for sounds, on board (no SD card), 50 sounds max, plugs into USB.
Unclear if fire and smoke alarms are included in stock sounds.
My Ecolink chime siren has been fine, mostly, but I have to say, the TTS via Airplay to a HomePod MINI has been tres convenient.
I think I know what you were going to say, lol.
Figured this wasn’t the place for it.
And...it was thoughtless of me, lol.
Recieved 2 of the ZSE50s today. Was able to pair using ZWLR without issue and selected Generic Z-Wave DT Sound Switch driver as recommended by Zooz. No issue with basic operation, however, it doesn't populate the tone names in the state section as implied by the Zooz documentation.
Very compact device, sound quality is excellent compared to the VERY low volume output of the ecolink chime I was using previously.
Hopefully @jtp10181 will get time to create a custom driver soon ![]()
Received mine yesterday. Here is what I see on the Commands tab. I was hoping to use the LED to indicate various conditions around the house (garage door open, AC set to on, etc.) but it looks like that will have to wait a bit.
Did you pair as "generic z-wave dt sound switch"? Curious why your sound files are populating but mine aren't. Did you pair with ZW-LR or mesh? Are you using ZWJS or standard?
Sorry for so many questions
Are you on zwave-js or zip, I'm guessing my issue is that I'm using zwave-js if so
Edit: switched to z-wave legacy, all states are now showing like yours. Thanks
