Zigbee issues since upgrade?

Does the scan only show hubs? I thought the 11's were my wifi access points, and the 25s my 2 hubs. but my zigbee page says it is on 20. The second hub only does zwave, zigbee is disabled

Cross corelate by looking at the panid and extended panid - but your hubs should be on 2 different channels...
Also, another point. If you move channels or change power levels, some of your devices will NOT come along. After waiting 24 hours, you may have to repair them.

What do the panid's correlate to?

I believe youโ€™re referring to Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Ethernet over Power isnโ€™t the same thing.

So with these two caveats at least, reverting to firmware 2.3.8 is still the easiest way (possibly only?) to test whether a minor firmware version in 2.3.9.x created the problem the OP is having.

20 has been really problematic lately. I had several issues lately where my zigbee radio would bounce up and down several times a day. Moving it to 25 solved it and seems to have solved it for a lot of other people as well. As pointed out by @danabw Keep your wifi ap at 6 or below. Move your hub to 25 and see how things go. It will take a bit for your mesh to settle. There may be a few devices you have to re pair but they'll slot back into place.

Normally you should have the last 5 or so versions listed in the diagnostic tool to roll back, but if you have updated more than 5 times since you think the issue started then yes you would have to go back to the prior major version.

Also yes, get off channel 20, no one is sure what the issue is but people have been having random issues on C8 hubs with channel 20. More than one occasion just switching to 25 fixed the issues.

I am having problems with a few zigbee devices also since the latest update. The zigbee device are not responding to commands but it is reading the state just fine...

Here is a device below. This one reads the state of the device fine but will not accept any commands being sent.

  • endpointId: 01
  • application: 20
  • firmwareMT: 115F-0210-00000020
  • inClusters: 0000,0002,0003,0004,0005,0006,0009
  • manufacturer: LUMI
  • model: lumi.switch.b1laus01
  • outClusters: 000A,0019
  • softwareBuild: 00000020

Trust what you see on the Zigbee details page. That shows the channel Zigbee is using. The channel scan can show old/incorrect information, and it includes all Zigbee controllers like Hue hub, etc.

Do this first:

  1. Shut down your hub
  2. Pull power from the hub for 30s
  3. Plug it back in and let it settle for a a few minutes

Then check to see if the devices are reponsive again.

If not, share what devices are having issues (manuf and device type).

For me every device doesn't work. I've been trying some of the suggestions in this form to see if I can get my c8 running again. I haven't had any luck as of yet.

If you have already tried above w/no improvement, please start a new topic in the Get Help>Devices category. Describe what hub you have and platform version, when the problem started, and what you have tried so far. That way folks can help you more efficiently, not go over things you may have already tried.

Which driver are you using?

  1. from the Zigbee details page:

  2. from my network scan:

lol, my panid does not show up in the scan at all. And now I see 5, 3 on 11 and 2 on 25. I have no ther hubs using zigbee. What can they be?

They could be Hue Controllers, or more probably neighbours.
Try running the scan again, perhaps your Hub will show up.
(You should only be able to run the scan from a hub that has zigbee turned on).

I can draw 2 conclusions.

  1. The scan must not pick up itself
  2. My neighbors have some kind of zigbee hubs

Does anyone know, are those strong signals?

The Zigbee scan is totally worthless IMO, do not even look at it. Half the time it does not work at all, may or may not show your own hub. May show things on the wrong channels (cached info?).

Its a tool to possibly get some info but it is not reliable.

That appears to be true for the C-7. The other models also have individual quirks affecting the channel scan output, see: What does zigbee channel scan do? - #11 by Tony

Is there a specific reason you've chosen channel 18 for your Zigbee devices? Recommended Zigbee channel these days from HE is 25, and keep 2.4. GHz Wi-Fi down on 1 or 6. Issues have been found recently with channel 20, cause is currently not clear.

After switching ZIgbee channels it can take a day or so for your devices to find themselves on the new channel, and a few may need to be power cycled or reset/rejoined. But I would expect you'll have better luck in general up on 25 than 18.
