@Ken_Fraleigh Mine has always been a solid worker, but definitely something to keep in mind.
I only saw the issues with AirPrint, Homebridge, sometimes AirPlay, and often with Kasa (udp I think). The thing that really made me irritated enough to drop hundreds on 2 Velops was when I switched to AT&T fiber and could only get gigabit speeds for about 30 minutes after a reboot of the router, then it wouldn’t go past 500 until the next reboot. It was a Nighthawk X6S. Never again.
Edit: btw, I tried several other Nighthawks and had the same issues.
I should say this has been my case up until now. It's currently operating correctly, and if it stays that way it's obviously not "a Hubitat integration issue." I just won't have any idea of what the issue actually was because I absolutely poured over every setting, every detail, and made spreadsheets for gods sake trying to keep track of everything. lol. But removing everything and reimplementing from scratch seems to have removed whatever stumbling block was there. So fingers crossed!!
Oh and the other thing I did, whether efficacious or not, was remove EVERY hint of Wiz from Alexa as well. They'll get added back in after I know the system is workin' perfectly and consistently. I don't necessarily think Alexa was the culprit by any means, I'm just trying to remember every step that I took that ultimately got me from headache to success. That and actually specifying IP Address Reservations in the router settings for each and every Wiz bulb.
Anybody know why a new Wiz bulb added to the mix would not keep a new device name I give it after replacing "Wiz RGBW Light on 192.168.1.39" with a name, clicking "Save Device", going back to Device List, and seeing the name back to "Wiz RGBW Light on 192.168.1.39", over and over and over without saving the new name?
Use Device label field instead. Name is auto-populated by the integration.
@gopher.ny OMG I'm so dumb. It's been a long day. THANK YOU
I've been using the community driver for wiz for years and it's been solid. Today it appears to have failed. Not able to control the bulbs through the hubitat device page at all. Wiz app works instant.
Tried the built in integration and it never found devices. I saw the there was a problem with eero routers and the multicast discovery, apparently not resolved.
I tried redoing the devices with community driver but no luck. Is there a way to manually add the bulbs via the built in app, since multicast and eero have issues?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I suspect that whatever broke the bulb originally is also what is causing the built-in integration to not work.
If i remember right the community integration uses TCP while the Built In one uses UDP protocol for the packets. This means their ability to work should be independent if they are connected to your wifi.
Can you check to make sure they are actually still connected to your wifi and that the LAN control option is turned on for the bulb. You may want to turn off Bluetooth on your phone and then try to control them. That would force control over wifi instead of bluetooth.
I am following up on a bug that I reported earlier in 2022. I have 7 Wiz bulbs which have been operating fine. However, their status in the integration app and device page randomly show as offline, even though they are actually online and fully controllable via Hubitat and the Wiz v2 Android app. They all have their own DHCP reservations.
I find it strange that their status changes randomly, with no apparent pattern. I can check them throughout the day and they will change back and forth, but they will always be operational. It's not negatively affecting me, just wondering if anyone else experiences this...
I haven't checked this in so long as they just work. That said i just checked it and most of mine are showing offline as well.
I have all of my bulbs setup with DHCP Reservations so they are on the network and always have the same ip as well. That said I went onto my dev hub and installed the integration and ran a discovery and all of the bulbs immediately appeared. One did go offline fairly quickly, but it was still detected.
Also noticing that after the HPM kasa integration was deprecated, I'm also not able to control kasa devices over lan anymore, as the built in is not finding them.
Through native (OEM) apps everything works for wiz and kasa. Checking lifx when I get home.
Even wled stopped working. Every single LAN device has stopped. Must be router side.
I restored a hubitat backup from a couple days ago... Everything works now. Weird. Not sure what happened.
Anybody know if there's anyway to prestage wiz bulbs? If there is I don't see it.
Dashboard - Is there only certain colors that it will follow when setting the bulb to "color bulb" ?
The wiz integration discovery doesnt find my wiz bulbs or remote and switches. I tried 100x times and nothing happens..
Welcome to the community!!
You have to first install the Wiz (Legacy) app (Android Play Store or Apple App store) on your phone or tablet. Follow the pairing instructions. Once you have them paired, then you can discover them in Hubitat.
Hi, thanks! I already had the app, but the hub couldn't find the devices. I changed Ethernet to wifi and the problem is solved!
Good to hear.
@bobbyD, any plans for the built-in integration to support SmartSense?
I'm guessing the answer is no, but thought I'd ask just the same
Hi I'm new with Hubitat and I'm having no success with getting Wiz lights working in a Hubitat Dashboard. It just does NOT work.
I've followed the instructions and I've:
- Adopted the Wiz Lights to the wifi using the Wiz App.
- Added the Wiz Integration app to the Hubitat
- Tried adding the Wiz lights to both EZ and Hubitat dashboards without success.
- I've tried updating to latest firmware on the hubitat, and uninstalling and re-installing the Wiz Integration app on the Hubitat.
Hubitat IP address: 192.168.2.111
Wiz light that I'm trying to control: 192.168.2.45
is showing up in the devices correctly.
I cannot create an EZ dashboard with the Wiz light, because, as shown the Study Light is simply not present in the list to move into the right column.
I checked the logs:
I WAS able to create Hubitat dashboard and add the light to that dashboard, however, it simply doesn't work.
When I change the slider nothing happens...
When I check the live log for this dashboard get this:
Does Hubitat just not support Wiz lights?
I have several WIZ lights that I've tried it with including these:
And these:
and this one:
None of them will work with Hubitat Dashboard...
