The new Tuya Human Presence Sensors ( TS0225 _TZE200_hl0ss9oa _TZE200_2aaelwxk) have actually 5.8GHz modules inside

Here's one of my resellers' reply to the dispute I opened. I do not know if I should hold out for more or settle. I am sure by catching them with their pants down scamming me I could force a full refund and keep the sensor. I've done it with other sellers before with 100% success rate. But they were really badly trying to screw me. This seller only slightly screwed me. I am not sure what he's talking about HA as I never mention it to him. He probably has a ton of pissed-off buyers screening for their heads on a pike so he's probably mixing us all up. I guess I should of thought this through before even opening up my dispute case. All told with taxes my 5.8 GHz sensor only cost me a grand total of $20.01. That is a decent price for a good 5.8 sensor with the added features, and not being so spammy.

One of the new features I love is the ability to shut off the small and static detection leaving only macro radar motion detection. I did that for my stairs and hallway. It is like a super PIR. As soon as I step foot into a room the lights in the hallway turn off instantly. Faster than my FP1, FPT2, or my old spamming 5.8 sensors. I have 100% recreated Star Trek lighting. Combining two of these not-so-24 sensors with my FP2 is amazing. My entire house lighting is instant on/off. Hallways and stairs are not common places where someone is going to stop, sit down, and meditate. So no need for small and static radar detection. Those two are what slows everything down to make sure no mistakes are made. Turn them off and set Presence Keep Time to 0. A little tweaking of the sensor sensitivity and bingo.

As frustrating as it is that these were misrepresented, I don't think I'll try and take any action. I have spent years looking for functional, reliable motion sensors that didn't look like an afterthought. The Aeotec TriSensor really caught my eye given the recessed mount, but I had a lot of grief with these and they cost me a lot of money. I believe those issues are finally resolved, but that's another discussion. These Human Presence Sensors are perfect for the basement. Hidden above the ceiling tiles, they give me exactly what I want. So, the time and effort put into fighting with a vendor probably isn't worth it. Everything else aside, these are doing exactly what I want.

I did order one of these to test. It claims to be 24G, but I'll wait until it's in my hand before getting my hopes up. With any luck, I'm hoping it will function with the driver @kkossev has created (thank you very much BTW, your driver has been fantastic!).

I'll use the other 5.8G sensors in hallways, washrooms, etc. and track down good 24G for bedrooms.

+-My seller claims they have the 24 mini in stock now and they are not all 5.8. He said they got them in again earlier this week and gave me the new link. It's more expensive than what they were asking for the 5.8. Here is the link and his message. This link actually give the information for both 5.8 / 24. They are selling both for several forms factors. I am almost tempted to try one more time. It's only
something like $27 with tax for the gamble. I do not know. I really would like to test them both to see if 24 really makes any difference in low end radar smart home products. Human Presence Sensor 24G 5.8G Radar Detector Millimeter Wave Smart

"Yes,we have 24G hz ,type ,we update it this week in this link ,and if you would like to purchase new one sensor ,I am surely to offer discount and sell you the 24ghz sensor
Please view next links ,these is the 24Ghz radar sensor ;
About the price,it is evidently more expensive than other 5.8ghz sensor,you can view the difference in price clearly ;So if you search other store cheaper 24ghz sensor,which may be wrong type;
24Ghz radar module is better and the material is more expensiver;
"

I am getting tired so I do not know what his deal for me is. Get a discount and the mounting do-dad. Or pay the normal price and get the Swivvel thing as a discount. Does someone else want to translate for this tired guy? LOL Oh hey just sent me some discount code. Hell, I think I am going to risk it. Plus I just got paid today.

Have you got a link to the claimed 24Ghz sensor?

Well it's done. I will see in the next 14 days or so if I am the proud owner of yet another 5.8 zigbee Tuya sensor or a 24 GHz. I own the expensive with fall detection 24 sensor but it is very slow but very accurate. Never had a false with it. I think the side with caution and promote it as medical almost. So slow and accurate is prudent. If this one really is the unicorn of Tuya presence sensors turns out to be real 24 I paid a total of $19.23 with a $1 discount, and my $4 refund for my not-so-24 GHz, 24 Tuya sensor. Plus I get the free cheap twist/rotate to aim mount. Something like $2 they sell it for. It turns out to be really helpful in getting it pointing where you need it. Worth a couple of bucks if you do not have a 3d printer to make your own.

Fingers crossed.

Tuya 24 sensors

Just make sure to select 24 zigbee as they sell both 5.8 and 24s. (wifi and zigbee for both)

@JumpJump
I also order the 24 GHz Linptech Presence Sensor ES1 from Amazon.

@JumpJump how are you finding the performance of this sensor?

Strange, I have never had one regected and the sellers always fought hard. I guess they are becoming complacent with their sellers' thefts and cons. Their loss, people will get tired of being scammed and losing money shopping with dishonest sellers. AE will be the real loser in the end. I am tired of having to fight so often to not get screwed by shady sellers on their website. I think I will be going elsewhere for my future purchases even if it costs more. You need to go leave some crappy but true feedback. Add pics to show your proof. They cannot get rid of that once submitted.

I have negotiated 50% amount refund, but I don't see the transaction yet. Taking the money is fast; returning is slow .. : (

Same w/my kids. Never realized that they might work for Ali... :wink:

warning is gone now.. still no advance options.. just getting stuff like this in the log..

Please update to dev. branch version 1.5.1 new timeStamp "2023/09/07 7:47 AM"
The preferences for the 2AAELWXK should be restored now, also the warning is suppressed.

Sorry for the late response. I've been on vacation. I have the unit in question and a few others on the bench for testing. I haven't yet put the time into this one beyond ensuring I could add it to Hubitat and also a Tuya hub. It was working for sure. I just can't say how it rates with the others.

It's 2AAELWXK still missing the static detection minimum distance setting I believe.

I too purchased the "mislabeled" sensor from AliExpress, I opened a dispute up with the seller and was offered a whole 40 CYN (which equates to $7.47 CDN). I have countered with an offer that they ship the actual 24 GHz model and we call it good. Lets see where the counter - counter offer lands.
So when buying heads up if you visit the w**zhi Factory Store, Caveat emptor!

Follow up: I wasnt going to play the back and forth game with the store, they continued to low ball me so brought AliExpress into the convo and they offered 50% refund and I kept the sensor that was sent. Not the best but best I could get.

Seems like so far I have negotiated the best compensation! :slight_smile:

Did it work before? I couldn't find the 'data point' for the static detection minimum distance setting in the old code..

BTW, for anyone experimenting with new Tuya gadgets, I recommend to buy a Tuya Zigbee gateway for the tests. These are really cheap compared to everything else we have, and help a lot with the local integration of the Tuya gadgets.

For example, this one costs just 24 bucks! :

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004718007133.html

When you have a Tuya Zigbe GW, all the Tuya-specific 'data points' ( i.e. configuration parameters) and their minimum/maximum values are very easy to be determined.

The process is very easy :

I don't know if it worked or not. I didn't really test it out too much. Do you want me to pair it to my tuta hub to see if it shows it there?

Yes, please.
I don’t have this model, so the implementation in this driver is based on some information that I found on GitHub, which is not always 100% correct.
