Has HE developed and released matter support for the Switch-Bot hubs? If not exactly how do you link the Switch-Bot devices to HE?
There is a driver/app in HPM plus a direct approach as well to avoid the cloud.

This is being worked on for the built-in Matter Bridge driver, though at this point likely not until after the next release. I think the community bridge driver works in the meantime and apparently also the above.
Do note that some users have had ... interesting ... experiences with these devices over Matter. One oddity is that the at least my particular Switchbot Hub model needs to be factory reset in order to join it to a Matter controller. Not even Home got the names of my actual devices, either, so figuring out what was what was a bit of a challenge. But at least it's local and supported(ish), a small win for a historically cloud-centric lineup?
@kkossev I am assuming the community driver that is talked about is your matter advanced driver in HPM. Is that correct?
I have my switchbot hub 2 connected to the Matter Advanced Bridge. Works well enough for my blinds-tilt groups.
Thank you. That is why I was asking. I am looking at using their blind tilt devices. Glad to know it works for that.
You still need Homekit or Alexa or Google to do the bluetooth provisioning
I have Alexa but what do you mean the Bluetooth provisioning. Sorry I haven't dealt with anything Switch-Bot in the past. Any Bluetooth home stuff for that matter.
It's what all matter devices do. You use your phone to 'setup' or provision the device to be part of the Thread or Wifi network, The phone uses bluetooth to start that process. Then you need a newer Alexa, Google hub, or Homekit to finish the connection to 'Matter'. From there you can get a code that Hubitat and the 'community' matter driver can use to talk to the device. A future version of Hubitat software on newer hubs is rumored to will be able to do what we currently need Apple/Amazon/Google to do now when setting up devices. It sounds complicated but it's not that difficult when everything works.
Recently purchased the Switchbot Hub 2 on sale (was cheaper than the black Friday deals!).
Paired it to Google Home (I only have Nest Mini), then use the Matter code from Google Home to pair to HE and Aqara M3.
Using @kkossev Matter Advanced Driver in HE.
[RELEASE] Matter Advanced Bridge (limited device support) - Custom Apps and Drivers / Custom Drivers - Hubitat
Thank you. I was looking over the documentation for the Switch-Bot Hub and some videos and it shows the app generating the 11 digit matter code for the hub. I assumed that that code would bring the hub into Hubitat the same way as it works with the Aqara hub I have. If it doesn't I can still use Alexa no big deal.
Thank you I will have to do the same with Alexa. Question though. What is your freezer device?
Does it work well through the metal freezer? I know it says over 300 feet distance. How far are you getting reception from the hub? I am interested in this as well.
So I got my Hub 2 and blind tilts motors. I commissioned the hub through Alexa and used the code in Alexa to bring it into HE.
As others said I used the community matter driver and it worked great.
I have a question though. Using this method I am assuming the hub is matter over WiFi back to HE. Does this mean that HE will be able to control the blind tilt if the Internet is down as long as my wifi router is still operable (giving access over my home network) or is it going through the cloud since it was commissioned with Alexa?
This matter stuff still confuses me some.
Matter over Wi-Fi should work locally (I do suppose a vendor could do something odd here, but there is no technical reason it should work this way). This is true even if it was originally commissioned with Alexa; commissioning is just a way of sharing your network information with the device. When paired to each system, they work independently of each other (a bit of overlap if it's Thread and the commissioning device is also your only TBR, but technically for different reasons).
Of course, you are correct that your home WLAN would still need to be operable. This would be the case if all that is down is truly just your Internet connection.
Thank you. That is how it works with the Aqara hub as well. As long as my router is operational there can be zero internet and HE will still control it. I was hoping this is how the Switchbot would be. The Aqara you don't have to commission it. That is what was throwing me off.
