I'm trying to build a grid of filtered light switches, displaying only switches that are ON. The documentation in post #1 says filtered lists are included in TB Advanced:
Tile Builder Advanced
...
Filtered Lists
Monitor all devices in a category but only display those that meet a given criteria. In this case only open doors are displayed which is a huge space saver. The table updates as soon as a door opens or closes.
My TB version is "Tile Builder Parent v1.5.5 (1/5/25)".
My license status says:
So, are filtered lists not part of Grid, or is my license defective?
Attribute Monitor in Advanced mode supports filtered lists and this was what I was referring to when I wrote that post.
I did consider adding a filter capability to Grid but opted not too because the module is pretty large and complex already. It can also display many attributes from the same device so the filter logic is not as straightforward as it is in Attribute Monitor.
There is some simple filter logic in SmartGrid that might suit your purposes and worth a look if you have not already done so.
I'm not seeing a filter function there to select only switches/dimmers that are ON (I'm trying to display a late-night check screen that shows only lights that are ON).
My licensing says " You are running Remote Builder Advanced".
Another question about Smart Grid: I have over several dozen Inovelli Blue 2-in-1 dimmer/switches that can be configured as a dimmer or as an ON/OFF switch. In Smart Grid, all of my Inovelli Blue's configured as switches appear instead as dimmers, with a slider and all. Is there any way around this?
I just took a look to refresh my memory and the filtering is limited to a few sensor types at the moment but I’ll take a look at adding switch status. No promises but it seems very doable.
As far as the dimmer slider goes you can hide that column under Customize\Headers & Columns.
Thanks for thinking about adding filtering to switches!
I don't want to hide the dimmer slider column! I have some Inovelli Blue units configured as dimmers and some as switches, so I'd like the dimmer slider column to show sliders for the dimmers but NOT for the switches. So is there some way to teach TB which IB devices are dimmers and which are switches?
My goal is to have a filtered list of switch/dimmer controlled lights that are ON, with the ability to turn them OFF from the tile.
In Attribute Monitor - Advanced, I can get a filtered list of ON lights -- but cannot make the "ON" state text or icon a hot link to a command to turn them OFF.
In TB Grid, I can only get an unfiltered list of ON lights -- but can make the "ON" state a hot link to a command to turn them OFF.
Similarly, in Remote Builder - Smartgrid, I can only get an unfiltered list of ON lights -- but do automatically get a state control that includes a command to turn them OFF.
So, filtering is really needed in Grid or Smartgrid or hot links need to be added to Attribute Monitor - Advanced (i.e., %deviceID% needs to work in AMA) -- whichever is easier!
Brand new to the game and trying to fully dive into this process. After much reading, can I confirm this will not work with the EZ dashboard? I have played around with the legacy dashboard and at this early point prefer the EZ version, but really want to activate a license for multiple attributes on a single tile. Thank you!
It occured to me today as I was driving home that the reason that I did not offer a filter on switch status is because if you had a SmartGrid with a filter to only show switches that are turned ON then once you used that SmartGrid to turn that Switch to OFF is would disappear from the SmartGrid (because it no longer meets the ON filter). In order to turn it back on again you would have to use a different SmartGrid or other means and it seemed like a very unusual use case.
For my use case -- a list of ON lights to check before I go to bed, so I can turn some of them OFF -- disappearing switches would be OK (although I'm not sure why they'd have to disappear instantly -- perhaps waiting for some other event or elapsed time before making them go away?). And I'd be happy if just Grid had filtering.
I just installed the Tile Builder app, which seems to have a lot of potential.
I created my first multi-attribute monitor, published it, and subscribed to it.
However, I can't find any information or videos on how to make it appear on my standard dashboard.
What do I need to do to display it there?
I just started playing around with the new thermostat tile, but the CSS provided breaks the rest of my dashboard tiles (Labels go away). With and without the CSS, I can't seem to interact with the tile either.
