[RELEASE] IKEA window roller blinds

If you prefer the 98% look then just schedule a morning hard open once a day like myself. I also prefer the look of it not opening fully.

Thanks. About actuating the custom command, what parameter should be passed. 0-1 didn’t work.

Thanks again.

There is no parameter

Ok. Am I doing this wrong?

Looks like you are doing it right. You don't even need to click on parameter type.

Hi, just a side note. You say the blinds continue to roll past their maximum length. How do you make this occur? Ideally I could do with my blinds continuing to roll a further 12". I have extended my fabric but I'm unable to get them to roll all the way down to my new length. They roll all the way up with no problems but when coming down, they stop at the original length. Unbelievably, I pull them down the remaining 12". Is this possible in any way?

It's not possible in software. It only rolls too far if it loses calibration which is not something you want to happen.

You can physically do what you want by obstructing the return of the blind by 12" at the top. But then it'll never fully open.

Cheers, I thought this myself. How frustrating

Yeah, when i was with ST they would roll up and stop 12" from the top without sensing any restriction. The blind seemed to assume this was 100% open. I never needed to recalibrate. I can't seem to achieve this with HE.

Should be the same on ST as I transferred my driver from there.

You can try this....
Close your blinds. Go to preferences, set max open level to 99%.
Open your blinds but physically stop them from fully opening. It should at this point calibrate this as 100% open.

Now when you click open it should only open to this point.

Unfortunately, over time it might lose calibration, but ymmv.

Cheers for this. I used your driver when I was with ST. It worked great back then and also does now. I just wished the hardware would allow a further few turns of the roller. How annoying but such as life :+1:

Hi, i have a number of these blinds and they work great with the @a4refillpad driver. However, my inexperience is getting the better of me. I have bunched the blinds into groups but cant seem to get the groups working from my group dashboard tile.
So i've given the group device the Ikea driver and then i've set my group tile as a shade? however when i alter the tile position of the group tile, the blinds won't move.
I know this is simple but what trick am i missing guys?

Ignore this guys, my brain fart is over. Ive set the driver to be a dimmer and also tile to be a dimmer. I think i'm getting a bit dimmer too

I saw this and thought of you...

Hi, they look neat. Unfortunately wouldn't solve my issue unless they were 300mm long but I can see their uses definately. Cheers though

Hi, please forgive my ignorance here. I'm sure this is simple but I can't get my head around a rule. Basically I want my outdoor lights to turn off if my blinds dimmer drops below 80%. However, if my blinds have been for example at 60% all day and I then set them to 70% then the lights turn off because they are <80%. So ideally I need a rule that ensures that if the blinds drop below 80% (so must begin at a greater value than 80%) and cross the 80% threshold, then the lights turn off. Any thoughts would be appreciated @a4refillpad or anybody else please

You'll probably have better luck posting this as a rule machine challenge. I am unable to help sorry.

No probs, cheers for your help to date

@a4refillpad First of all thanks for providing this driver. It generally works well. That said, I have found that the batteries in my 20 or so Fyrtur blinds constantly run out. On average they only seem to last a few weeks, with minimal open and close activity (I maybe open and close them 10 times before the batteries need to be recharged). Any chance that has something to do with the driver, or using the blinds with Hubitat? If so, can you think of any way to reduce the power usage, so the batteries can last the 2-3 months that other users that are not using the blinds with Hubitat are reporting?

Mine easily last more than 2-3 months and would never run out after just 10 uses!!
Have you got any rules that are constantly refreshing the state of the blinds preventing the zigbee module from sleeping?
Could you try removing all rules from a couple of your blinds to see if the battery life improves?
Have you also added all the included repeaters to the network too?
