Ah yeah I forgot it needs to change state, that's probably it. Thanks.
Hi All,
I have set up HADB and linked google assistant to my hubitat instance. I am able to expose lights and switches without an issue but when exposing anything else covers (google assist wont recognise these but Alexa does?) climate entities etc. if you try to control one through the the assistant it will just knock off home assistant and force it to reboot.
Does anybody have a fix for this?
Just to make sure I understand correctly: Controling a HA thermostat through HADB with Google assistant cause your Home Assistant instance to reboot?
Yep, also when trying to add a blind.
This point to a faulty HA installation.
Nonetheless:
- Does it happen when you try to control the thermostat from the HE device page?
- What happen when you activate the entity in HA?
- Are you using the official Google home integration or the community one?
- Does it happen when you try to control the thermostat from the HE device page? The thermostat and blind direct from he function correctly
- What happen when you activate the entity in HA? Also wrksnfine
- Are you using the official Google home integration or the community one? Yes official integration. Am incorrect to say the official integration does not integrate covers to google assistant?
Maybe i will try roll back ha a month and see if that fixes the problem
If it works from the device page and directly in HA, I don't see how the GH integration could cause the crash.
Are your device shared to Google directly from HA as well?
That I don't know. Maybe someone else can confirm.
Thank you, if I accidentally select to remove all child devices, is there an easy way to bring them back?
If you do a backup before changing something, a restore will bring them back.
Ahh I accidentally clicked it while scrolling my phone and hadn't done a backup -_-
Do you have a nightly backup on HE?
Nope, today was the first day with the hubitat lol
I have tried to uninstall the app, delete the app code and soft reset but can't get the back😔
If it is your first day with Hubitat, you probably did not have that many rules involving these devices. Just reinstall the app and select again the entities you wish to integrate in HE. They will reappear as soon as you activate them in HA.
I did try to do this but the entities no longer populate on the list for me to select. The only option is toggle on off when I head to the device select section.
I have uninstalled the app. Deleted the app code, soft reset. Re-installed, put a new token but just can't get anything to populate under the devices again.
My previous issue with ha resetting has also been fixed now. It turns out I updated an add-on called Alexa media player that had been bricking people's ha instances. So once I get this all reinstalled I'm hoping the assistant will work properly
Thank you, all up and running again. The IP was banned from home assistant - this is why the devices were no longer showing.
Covers do not work in the native google home app so i will try go down the community made route next.
This is the error that the native google home integration provides
The following devices are not supported by Google Home and will be removed from your device list:[Garage door, Bedroom Blind]
I believe you may me pleased with the next Hubitat platform update. The Google Home integration is getting some love that I believe you will be happy with! (If you want to try it sooner, you could join the Beta Program.)
Perfect! I've just submitted a request to join
