I simply schedule a daily refresh. No need to toggle the light or initiate power/range tests
You shouldn't need a custom branch of Idle Node Refresher to perform switch action. There is a built-in option at the bottom of the settings page labeled "Refresh switch state" which does just that.
As @mark.amber notes, my RE7 driver has a Refresh option which should be sufficient.
