I believe the separate MAC addresses should be enough to separate the gateways, beyond the alternatives @kahn-hubitat expertly pointed out.
Alternatively... You could also step outside the EcoWitt sphere... it is allowed ;-)... If you are considering temperature and/or humidity observation, then you could look at a broader range of options than just EcoWitt.
I actually already have the second Ecowitt gateway so I tried it out and it seems to work fine. Sweet.
There are other options... But the Ecowitt stuff has been reliable even in freezers, temp sensors are relatively cheap even at the inflated Amazon convenience price of $16, they have good signal, and I like that they take AAs and have long battery life. I haven't yet seen another Hubitat-friendly sensor temp option that hits all those points, but if someone knows one lay it on me!

I'm on the verge of extending my ecosystem to some ecowitt devices, but I have been unable to find an answer to one question. My HE network is primarily zwave devices. Since ecowitt also uses the same frequency as zwave, will the interfere with each other and cause problems? I have an outdoor zwave plug that would be near the wittboy and the hub would reside in the same closet as my c8.
Ecowitt devices operate on different frequencies depending on region, much like z-wave.
Where are you located?
It looks like they are different frequencies from what I have seen, i.e. Z-Wave vs EcoWitt. Was there somewhere you had seen that they were the same?
zwave and ecowitt both use 900 in the US.
From what I can see EcoWitt uses 915, as @Horseflesh showed, whereas Z-Wave uses either 908.4 or 916
Is there enough separation in those frequencies to prevent interference?
Tbh I'm not the one to ultimately answer that, I can only go on the fact they are different and that I would expect they would not be as popular if they did interfere. Beyond that assumption I can't say, I don't use Z-Wave myself.
The short answer is "probably." The long answer is "it depends on how well the radios are made, let's get out the RF analyzer..."
My answer, having both kinds of gear, is "no problems so far."

Thanks. Real-world evidence is what I was hoping for.

One more question. My computer stopped being able to access the ecowitt.com website yesterday afternoon. After several rounds of troubleshooting, I realized that the website was resolving to IP addresses inside the Russian federation. Does anyone know what ecowitts relationship to Russia is?
Were you trying to access your weather dashboard?
I’ve been under the impression for quite a while that they’re a Chinese company.
I’m sure it’s possible they use some kind of hosting provider from Russia.

no, I haven't purchased anything yet. I was still doing research on devices.
A little more research reveals that Alibaba has a huge cloud presence in Russia. Maybe they are hosting the ecowitt website.
