Others have posted about this in the past, so a couple searches will probably find it. But I have seen posts where people have indeed used Command Strip like you mention, and Velcro (both successful). Or using 3D printed mounts such as the one @Carl mentioned or the ones I have created... Many options out there.
Here are a couple I found:
For now, my hub is in my entertainment console in just about the middle of the house. It's an okay place for it, but I would rather not have it being knocked around when we take out / put away controllers, headsets and the like.
I've been thinking of using some 3M foam tape and mouting it to the bottom / inside of the console top, out of the way, and using some cable mounts on 3M foam tape to support the ethernet and Micro USB power cables. There's no vent holes on the top of the hub so heating…
Has anyone created / found a vertical stand for HE hubs? I like to keep mine standing on edge on my networking / home automation shelf. Because they are so light, the weight of the ethernet and power cables tend to tip them over. I was thinking something like large binder clips on the edge, but didn't want to introduce metal which could interfere with antennas. All suggestions are welcome!
