Someone that uses Hubitat says this isn’t natively supported in the reviews on Amazon. I don’t mind figuring it out and I’m new to Hubitat, Vera now, but is there a way to get the developer to add it through the community or an email?
Looks like they made their own Hubitat driver. I have no idea how well it works - I don't own one of these devices.
(link above from this Minoston suppot page)
I have a couple different Minoston plugs, and they work fine on Hubitat.
I've used Minoston drivers with them also Eva Logik drivers, and for some of their devices they use the same hardware OEM as Zooz does so you can even use some really good Zooz drivers that a community developer has created.
Many devices use generic built-in drivers and function fine, but you might lose something like power reporting. Or the other side of that, the generic drivers in Hubitat makes most Zigbee and Z-wave devices usable, but are no-frills and don't always have all the options.
However in the case of Monoston and Evalogik, they are nearly clones of Zooz, and as noted above, the excellent community drivers for these Zooz typically work great and have all the settings and options available.
Edit to add: I have both Minoston and Evalogic, and they work fine on Hubitat.
So I think that person on Amazon is wrong, no matter which way you look at it.
Great source of general info in this thread and probably more specific to Minoston Plug in one of these.
Edit: Nothing definitive for the "P" plug if you don't want to use the OEM driver, but a place to start.
I've been using the dual version of this plug for the last 3 years on my C7 hub and it has been rock solid, only not responding maybe 5 times over 3 years, which is fantastic-because home automation isn't perfect....yet
I have over 10 of the Minoston outdoor plugs (primarily for Halloween and Christmas) with them being a combination of the power reporting and not... and I will say that they have held up well. I primarily use the Eva Logik drivers.
