Midea Mini Split Wifi Support

can you ping it from your PI? not a guest network is it?

It looks like some Mr Cool units use different APIs (probably different manufacturers based on model).

Here's a totally different API implementation from what my Midea driver is based on. Maybe it is worth trying out:

GitHub - nicholasrobinson/node-smartcielo: NodeJs interface for interacting with smartcielo remote AC control API (MRCOOL)

I can ping it from my phone and from my laptop. I got the discover to work on my laptop

Just checking for understanding -- you got midea-discover to run on your laptop, but it didn't actually discover your AC unit. Correct?

Correct. I know where it is on my network, I can ping it.

Thank you SO MUCH!

I got a Midea U window AC & could not figure out how to control it (all the local & cloud home assistant integrations i tried hung on this midea ac). Your integration had it working 1st try! It does have a 5 second ish latency, but im fine with that bc cooling takes a lot longer than 5 seconds.

Just to understand, would a window unit like this work with this integration locally? https://amzn.to/3IDjV2Q

If you already have it, I'd give it a try. If you were going to buy it and this functionality is critical to you, then I'd make sure it has a good return policy just in case.

@scott9 yes, the integration works like a charm for midea U ! I have this midea U ac. It is a local integration.

On another note, youll love the AC. Its super quiet & allows you to open the window. Just make sure to tilt the bracket a couple degrees outside, otherwise you will have issues with water drain & mold!

Finally, use the Msmarthome integration. It is just overall cleaner, and the alexa integration actually works.

Hi, I am planning to add a mini-split to a converted porch on our house. Can someone recommend a Midea (or other) model to buy that is confirmed working with this integration. I would love to automate it and since I haven't purchased anything yet I am open to suggestions. The room is 10 x 23 and has a valued ceiling. Thanks.

Senville all serie SENA will work.

I installed this about two years ago, in my garage. Roughly same size area, except that the ceiling is only about 9'. Couldn't be happier with it and it works with this integration.

Has anyone explored a local control solution using the midea integration? The Cielo breeze is a nice package with wall mounted thermostat and controls. Obviously that is not needed here as the Hubitat controls the unit. But having a wall mounted control for local access would be nice. I could easily add it to my dashboards, I am running Sharptools for this, but I don't currently have a touchscreen in the room that I plan to place the split and ideally the solution would be a single gang option. Interested in knowing if anyone has done this?

Thanks @tomw this works great out of the box with a newly installed Midea portable heat pump model. My only question is once I get everything working w/ hubitat, can I remove it from the cloud?

Yes, this uses a local connection to the unit and does not require cloud access.

I just posted v0.9.2, which has a bug fix for thermostat controller and possibly other apps.

Once you update to this version, be sure to click Configure to finalize the update. Thanks to @jasonp9 for bringing it to my attention and for testing the fix.

I haven't paid much attention to this lately, but the dashboard buttons were broken. They are fixed now, thanks!

Hey Tom,
Recently started getting sever hub loads and noticed this with the basement AC. Any ideas what I should look at?

If you add the % of total column, what do those numbers look like?

This?
