Logitech POP buttons end of life

Got the dreaded email this morning: Logitech POP buttons end of life Oct 15th, they barely give us any time to find anything to migrate to.

Google started the trend to end 1st gen nest, then belkin told me my full house of WEMO will not work anymore soon, now here goes all my POP buttons.

My home automation is completely falling apart....

I’m sorry you feel this way, but this is a part of the risk when dealing with cloud based devices. The good thing is there are several zigbee and zwave buttons that are compatible with hubitat. Aeotec, Tuya, sonoff and third reality have local inexpensive button options.

So your home automations should be better than before in no time.

Sorry to hear that. Believe me, we feel your pain, an un-fun lesson to learn, and many of us here went through similar troubles when cloud-based services died in the past.

But as @sidjohn1 notes, that's why a lot of us are are here on Hubitat (local-control focused), and there are many switch and button options that don't rely on the cloud that work w/Hubitat. Switches (Zooz, Inovelli, GE/Ultra Pro/Jasco, etc.) are pretty easy to find, and below are a couple fairly recent topics on button options w/useful links...folks do seem to like the newer Ikea buttons (Somrig) w/community Ikea drivers that are available here.

And with ZigBee, don't forget the IKEA option!
Although... better stock up, they're moving to Matter as well.

The upfront cost is pretty steep, but I've been using a lot of the Lutron Pico two button devices lately. I have a pair next to my desk that I use for single and double taps. I've never had to change a battery in a Pico.

This trend of axing a cloud-dependent device or service when the hardware is still functional has been a thing for much longer than that.

Although Google has done stuff like this before too.
