Can I ask what driver you are using for these?
I've ordered the Zigbee light switches from ozsmartthings but would also like to dim the downlights, what's the best solution? A dimming module or controllable downlights? Which is going to give the best solution?
Best smart lock for Australia? I've previously used a Schlange zigbee smart lock (AUD200), but putting on some extensions and would like some more. Prefer zigbee, but flexible.
The Yale locks have the option of a user installable Zigbee or zwave module. Iβve got a pair of them with Zigbee radios and they work great.
I got mine via eBay for an amazing price:
I second the Yale locks with a Zigbee module. I have 6. Superb.
Thanks, at that price, I might get 3. Seems good value. Replace all keys at home, except 1, which is exposed (front door).
Can confirm with the above.
I have 2 in zigbee and working perfectly
I also got 3 Yale locks with Zwave and they have been superb. Running for 1 year now and still no need to replace batteries. I bet they will die once I post this message...
I use the energiser lithium batteries and they are showing 200% capacity over a year later.
I'd like the Yale locks with the key backup and handle, but they seem a lot more expensive.
We still have regular handles with integrated locks on our doors. Technology is awesome but sometimes things fail and itβs good to have mechanical redundancy.
So you're doing a digital unlock and a key at the same time?
I use geofencing to lock and unlock the front and back doors when we leave/arrive home.
But do you still need a key to get in? So you're using it only as an extra deadbolt for when you're away?
Basically yes, and they lock in night mode too.
All my Yale have both physical and digital lock because my other half wants that piece of mind.
But we never bring any keys now when we go out. All physical keys are safely secured in I don't know where.
Work flawlessly though. As @dJOS said can be a part of HSM so all lock when you set mode to away.
Which model locks are you using?
I use Yale Assure Lock - Touchscreen Keypad Deadbolt - Black Suede and another one without deadbolt. All with keyholes.
I found the key sets are cheaper from US or outside AU, find good deal in Amazon sometimes.
I bought the zwave module in JB Hifi and Bunnings.
Also Yale assure SL lock owner. I originally had the HomeKit module, and that got replaced with the Yale Conntect kit, both were garbage. Finally got the zigbee module and it has worked like a charm ever since.
Iβve been looking for a smart lock for the security screen door. Looks like Yale now has one on the unity series. Anyone know if theyβll have a zigbee option for it as well? Are there any other better options out there for screen doors?
