Was browsing the ikea website today and noticed the tradfri smart plugs are finally available in Australia for $20. I assume they're the same as the overseas versions and therefore should function as repeaters. Also out are the new shortcut buttons but I doubt these will work with HE.
From what I've read the Smart plugs are NOT as strong repeater as the dedicated repeater. YMMV
No but that is a great price!
I too need to upgrade as my hub has been offline for 2 weeks. It is stuck booting
Support should be able to get that sorted or have they said "it's toasted" ??
Std warranty is 2 years, I believe.
My C4 is OoW but still going strong.
I sent support a message 2 weeks ago but they haven't got back to me yet. Resent it again the other day.
I thought the staff had talked about trying to get local distributors at one point, but probably worth confirming that they are legit...
Hey folks,
My led downlights don't play the dimming game well, so I'm selling my Aeotec nano dimmer (like new), if anyone is keen?
Located in Perth, but can ship.
its 30 or 60 days, and i have just been through the process last October and was shocked. They tried everything to fix it but I got the C7 at a good price as a result. Small win
They have a website - www.robothaus.com.au. Also selling through the website and claiming they are an official distributor. Free shipping through the website. Based here in Brisbane but no office address, so probably operating out of a garage.
Last time I spoke with Bobby there were no official distributors in AU/NZ yet. Looking at the company details, it also registered EDEN SMART HOMES as a business name, which is the same as an IoT Startup from India. Principal place of business is a 3 bedroom unit in Boondall, QLD so low confidence that it is an official thing atm. Though it could be linked to the Indian IoT startup Eden, which is a more likely partner.
The free shipping tipped me over so I've now ordered a C7.
My understanding is that the HE, "Hub Protection Services" service will only support C5 and above so I'm going to be having to manually migrate and I currently have sometime to do it.
I'm doing the same. Got the C7 here now waiting to migrate over. May use the C4 as an extra hub for lan stuff.
I moved my lighting from Hue bridge to my new C-7 and left lan and other non-time-critical apps on my C-4. Not the smoothest ride with my lighting but definitely opened a lot more possibilities with other sensors and rules I can setup.
Interesting. I'm happy with the hue bridge mostly. Integration works pretty quick, and keeps the motion/contact zigbee separate. Although with C7 i'm considering more zwave now.
Yeah, I stayed on my hue bridge for about 18-24 months, getting fairly complex set of rules setup and working relatively well, but just wanted to make more use of things like Contact Sensors and other triggers available to me on the HE hub. I also like the option to see if lights are on before adjusting them, which I couldn't do reliably through the various integration options.
I kept my hue bridge for bulbs that get turned off at the switch so they donβt screw with the Zigbee mesh on my C7.
I also have 2 bed lamps that I donβt want turning on at 2am when power glitches.
Damn these C7's are tiny !
75mm square x 15mm high.
Gotta say, great service and delivery time from https://robothaus.com.au/
and they run super cool too! Very impressive for a little quad-core machine, even an Arm-based one.
