Finally!: Zigbee USB Smart Adaptor (SONOFF ZBMicro)

Thank you guys. Dont want to be too insatiable but is the new firmware for the SONOFF_ZBMINIL2 ?

The firmware update is for Sonoff ZBMicro only.

There are no recent updates for the ZBMiniL2 available from Sonoff.

@kkossev is there a special procedure to upgrade the firmware on this devices?

I“ve tried pressing the "Update Firmware" option on the "Generic Zigbee Switch", but nothing seems to happen.

Any help will be welcome.

Can you add an Update Firmware button, and possibly put the driver in HPM?

I've switched to your driver, and then I added my 3rd ZBMicro to my test hub... and I just now realize I forgot to update the firmware. I had to switch back to the Generic Zigbee Switch type to update the firmware.

I've put a ZBMicro back on my main C-7 (with ~150 Zigbee devices on the mesh) - the same one where it caused repeated Zigbee crashes. I'm hoping all goes well today.

That's the way to start the update. You should get a pop-up asking you to proceed, and then you should see something like this in the logs. The actual device page won't show any progress.

Make sure you have the logs open -- it takes over 5 minutes.

(You should probably see a "Downloading" line in the log, too, but I'd already updated another ZBMicro so I assume the firmware file was cached on the hub)

Will try again, but I believe that is exactly the way I have been doing it, without any response on the logs, and after waiting for 10-30 minutes.

I assume is using this Generic Zigbee Switch, correct?

BTW, I do get the pop-up asking to proceed.

Should I get the device to be "ready" to begin the update? maybe by resetting it or something like that? or just open up the Device page and proceed with the update?

I first open the logs in a new browser window/tab (and wait for them to load), and then just click Update Firmware (when using type Generic Zigbee Switch). I just did three of them on a C-7 this way. There is nothing to get ready on the device -- definitely don't reset it.

(FWIW, because of the issues above I did the updates on my backup hub with the ZBMicro as the only Zigbee device)

Darn - the ZBMicro with 1.0.5 is still causing havoc with my main C-7. It took just under 7 hours for it to cause the Zigbee radio to crash. That's much better than it did back in May , but it's still a bust for this device as far as I'm concerned.

I'm pulling it off my main C-7 and putting back on the idle one (where it hasn't caused an issue because it's the only device there).

Thanks @jlv for your help.

Actually that is exactly how I have tried many times!! Opening a Log tab next to the Device tab, but I just don“t see any message related to Upgrading or something similar. Not to mention that I have waited for at least 10-30 minutes for it to finish.

The detail is that I just don“t get ANY message when I press "Update Firmware" on the Log page.

I only have one ZBMicro, but should get two more in a few days from AliExpress. Besides, I“m at the office, and will be able to try again until I get home later in the evening.

Thanks again.

I“ve been using this ZBMicro switch for about 3 weeks, and everything seems to be working fine, but also I have to mention that I've been having Zigbee network falling almost every day, without a specific reason, (or not one I can find).

That is why I want to upgrade this little toy to see if my Zigbee network problem gets solved.

You may have already updated the firmware without noticing it?

What does the ā€˜Get Info’ (from the HE built-in ā€˜Device’ driver’ show in the live logs?

Last night finally I was able to upgrade the firmware after a couple of tries.
The first time I noticed that the update process was running, the Log activity showed under ā€œHubā€ device increasing percentages every 10%, up to 90%, and then nothing happened.
After a while I restarted the upgrade option and this time it went all the way to 100% and finally upgraded to 1.0.5.
It took about a minute per 10% advances, totally lasting about 11 minutes.
I really appreciate your patience and help.
Next beer is on me!

any update on the firmware update alleviating zigbee reboots?

One negatory so far...didn't solve the problems in this case:

I added two devices yesterday morning. Smooth firmware updates and operation since then: no Zigbee radio issues, no spamming, and clean control with the Generic Zigbee Switch driver.

Can you share which hub are you using, and what types of repeaters? Would also be interesing (via Zigbee Map app) to know if they are connecting directly or via repeaters...

C-8 Pro, and they're both connected directly to the hub, as well as each to 8 other repeaters. (Most repeaters are Sengled E1C-NB7 plugs, as I have ~25 of them around the house.)

sounds like we have the issue uses for this. The Linptech 24Ghz Radars need restarting every few weeks. What cam are you using? I think I'll go the Tasmota Wifi route. trying to decide which one to pick or make my own. Would be nice if they had a built in RTC so they have high availability without much dependence on wifi other than config, the the reboot event can be driven internally using a clock rule.
