C-8 Pro 2.4.3.155: Google Home 404 + Persistent UI Bugs (Groups & Scenes, Dashboard, ZEN77 Parameters)

Hi Hubitat Community & Staff,
New C-8 Pro user (updated to 2.4.3.155 today) migrating 40+ Z-Wave devices from X-10. 20 devices live (13 ZEN77s + 7 MP31ZDs), timers working via manual capture, but fully blocked on core functions.
Support History:
• Original request via contact form: November 5, 2025
• Follow-up email to support@hubitat.com: November 9, 2025
• Auto-reply merged into #35024 — no human response yet

Issues (all persist post-update):

  1. Google Home 404 on Authorize
Reinstalled, cache cleared, mobile data, re-authorized — same “URL not found”
  2. Groups & Scenes App
No gear, no Edit Mode, no Import dropdown (only Info → Settings)
  3. Dashboard Edit Mode
?edit=1 → “token revoked”; no + Add Tile
  4. ZEN77 Parameters
No gear, no Z-Wave Configuration section — cannot set Parameter 4/5 for 3–5 tap scenes

Working: Manual scene capture (Refresh + Update Scene), Room Lighting re-capture.
Tried: Reinstalls, console scripts, lockdown toggle, browser cache, mobile app — no change.
Request to Staff:
• Google Home token reset
• UI reset script or beta 2.4.4
• Z-Wave parameter workaround
Happy to test or provide logs. Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the Community

If you open the Hubitat Dashboards app and click in, there is a "reset access token" button under Advanced. There is also one on each child dashboard under the main app (not sure if the main app one does all, or you have to click on it in each dashboard)

I'm not sure if that is related to your other issues, so hopefully someone from Hubitat support, like @bobbyD, picks this up, or maybe some other community member is more familiar with those issues in the apps.

Thanks for the great tip!
I found Reset Access Token under Apps → Hubitat Dashboard → Advanced, clicked it, and waited.
Unfortunately, Google Home 404 still persists after re-linking.
Appreciate the help — one more thing ruled out!

How long does it typically take to get a human response from Hubitat support. I submitted my request 9 calendar days ago and all I've gotten is an auto reply with a ticket number.

It greatly depends on the nature of inquiry. Usually 3 days or less. Regarding the Google 404 error, have you tried removing everything on both sides and starting over. We can't replicate on our end, so the problem might be on Google's side: Google home integration 404 error - #6 by nicksimoncelli

Thanks for your response. I had seen that thread and tried with no success. That is only one of a myriad of problems mainly UI related. Basically Hubitat is crippled and I'm having to use work-arounds to accomplish many things.

I wouldn't say that at all. The majority of us that integrate google don't have an issue. Can you post the url of the 404 page?

Also are you doing this from your PC or your phone? What browser are you using?

Bad choice of words on my part — I did not mean "the majority" have issues. I meant in my case, the UI is missing many elements that make it unusable on many functions for me.

Current State (2.4.3.156, C-8 Pro, MAC 34:E1:D1:82:1F:63)

  • 23/40 devices live (16 ZEN77 + 7 MP31ZD) — all work perfectly
  • Dashboard: no Edit, no Import
  • Groups & Scenes: no gear, no Edit, no Import — only i in circle (info)
  • Google Home app completely missing from + Add built-in app — only "installation helper" shows
  • 404 on authorize URL every time

I've been working for over a week trying numerous fixes, scripts, etc. but that would be too much info. As an example here is some detail on Google Home.
What I've tried — Google Home (all failed multiple times)

  • Attempted to reinstall Hubitat Google Home app (only helper appears)
  • Remove/reinstall Hubitat Dashboard
  • Reset access token
  • Clear cache, private browser
  • Reboot hub
  • Restore downloaded apps (no built-ins)
  • Soft reset app data

Logs show nothing useful — just 404 on oauth

Support ticket #35024 merged — first reply received but no fix yet.

Question to community:
Has anyone seen Google Home vanish completely from the built-in list after migration?
Is there a remote metadata purge only support can do?

Thanks

It is not clear where you are migrating from. Sorry if I missed that, could you please share it again, if I did.

If you are coming from X-10, please check this document: Google Home | Hubitat Documentation

Thanks for the replies—appreciate the docs link and driver suggestion.

@bobbyD : I can navigate the GH instructions through step 7 (authorize in incognito, select devices), but hit the 404 error on the URL every time, even after troubleshooting (cache clear, multiple browsers, reboot, cloud backup test). The main issue is the "Google Home" app itself is missing from + Add built-in app—only "installation helper" shows. Any thoughts on that?

@jtp10181 : Thanks for the ZEN77 driver link—I'll try importing it via HPM. Is this to unlock the missing Z-Wave Config section (no params visible)? Confirming it's for multi-tap scenes, not GH/UI?

Full tried list in OP. Ticket #35024 open—hoping for remote fix.

Thanks!

At this time, we’re unable to provide remote support directly to individual local systems. As a local platform, we place a strong emphasis on customer privacy and security, so we do not have access to users’ local networks or devices. Because of this, we’re not able to remotely connect to diagnose issues.

That said, we’re absolutely here to help. If we can reproduce the issue in our testing environment, we’ll work to include a fix in an upcoming release. If we’re not able to replicate it, our options are more limited, but we’ll still try to do everything we can to walk you through some troubleshooting steps that hopefully can get things working for you.

If you are on your phone and getting the 404 on your phone via the google home app, that is going to be an issue with the app. Is this what is happening? (Unclear) What is the 404 Address?

For giggles, install Hubitat package manager, then install Google Home Community and see if that works for you.

Thanks for your private message. I'll address your request publicly in case other users run into the same problems.

From your message:

Request:

  • Purge of app metadata
  • Force reinstall Google Home built-in app
  • Beta 2.4.4 opt-in if available (for UI/driver fixes)

First and second items are within your power, and we can't remotely perform the actions for you.

If you are interested, you can join the beta group :point_right: here.

@rlithgow1 — thanks for the suggestion.

404 Clarification:

  • 404 happens on phone (Google Home app) when clicking Authorize after selecting devices.
  • Exact message: "404. That's an error. The requested URL was not found on this server. That's all we know. At the bottom of the screen it says: Error 404 (Not Found)!!1"
  • No PC authorize link — helper wizard stalls at Step 10 (no link)

HPM/Google Home Community:

  • HPM missing from + Add built-in app (same UI glitch as main Google Home)
  • Cannot install community version

Current:

  • Only "Google Home installation helper" shows
  • Logs: clean oauth — 404 is Google cloud side
  • Beta 2.4.4 enrolled — waiting for access

Ticket #35024 open — staff aware.

Thanks!

HPM is not a built in app, it is a community app and needs to be installed as such.

Make sure:

  1. you removed Google Home from installed apps.
  2. removed Hubitat link on Google Home app
  3. start linking process from Google Home app, not Hubitat.

@rlithgow1 — HPM installed via Bundles (thanks!).
Now in Apps list — unlocked Add User App too.

That allowed me to get a ZEN37 paired — 4 buttons → scenes via Basic Button Controllers.
Thanks!

@bobbyD — thanks for the steps.

History: GH has never linked (since Nov 8).

  • No main app in + Add built-in (only helper).
  • Helper stalls at Step 10 — no authorize link.
  • Phone: + > Works with Google > Hubitat > Authorize → 404 "Requested URL not found".

UI Glitch:

  • No gear, Edit, Import.
  • ZEN77 multi-tap blocked — no Z-Wave Config.

Logs: clean oauth — 404 is Google cloud.
Beta 2.4.4 enrolled — no update yet.
Ticket #35024 updated.
Thanks!

Isn't the zen-37 z-wave? Why would you need google for that?
