2024 Community App or Driver Developer Award Nominations

We want to express our gratitude to the community developers, and we’re inviting Hubitat users to nominate their favorite app and driver developers.

Nominations can be based on factors such as how responsive they are to questions, the ease of use of their apps/drivers, or any other reason you feel they deserve recognition.

To nominate a developer, simply post their name below along with a brief reason for your nomination. Please submit one nomination per post.

We will end nominations January 4th. A poll will follow to vote on a winner.

I think lpakula deserves a nomination for the incredible work he has done on OwnTracks.
Moving us from Life360 et al, with privacy concerns to an amazing in-house solution.

I got to go with the "Hub Information Driver" by @thebearmay. I use it every day and find it extremely useful.

I'd vote for @dandanache and his Zigbee Map app which makes troubleshooting something that is quite complex and gives you a decent tool to help penetrate the opaque world of Zigbee mesh networking.

Also for his IKEA drivers which I only became aware of a few weeks ago and I love that they are very complete and polished.

I would swiftly nominate @garyjmilne (of Tasmota Sync Drivers fame) for his brilliant contributions throughout 2024, namely:

  • Tile Builder - Grid, Rooms, Attributes, Activity, Thermostat
  • Remote Builder

along with meticulous documention and tireless support thereof. His drivers and apps IMHO are arguably the most advanced and feature-rich of their respective categories. Gary's willingness to engage other devs with an eye toward integrating with their apps puts him a class of his own.

The community has so many amazing community developers.
Below are some of my favorite developers:

@jpage4500 for the Android HD+ app; this is an amazing app and is now my daily driver for monitoring the status of my home network at a glance from my mobile phone (the need for dedicated dashboards on Home Assistant and similar and separate tablets have now been removed and forgotten about as everything just works the way it should!).

@kkossev for his dedication and support for so many device drivers; especially his his support for so many Tuya devices; I probably would have left Hubitat due to limited device support and device availability in the UK when I first purchased the HE hub, but then I discovered his community drivers for my use case and this enabled me to buy many smart devices from China on the cheap.

Also, his amazing working on the Matter Advanced Bridge driver which enabled me to integrate the Aqara M3 hub M3 (backup system for all lights and sensors), Tuya Zemismart Hub and Switchbot hub into Hubitat, and I am now really close to turning off Home Assistant machine!

Also, a shoutout for the Device Health Status app which is a must for all the device drivers I use.

@dandanache for the amazing Watchtower App, this is the best app, and it should really be integrated in the system to allow device stats to be easily viewed within the system.

Also, the amazing Zigbee Map for troubleshooting the Zigbee network.
