Zwave repair

I have a C5 hub if I was to add that and just used it for the lock do you think that would work?

Yes, you can do that, and share the lock to your main hub if you want via Hub Mesh, or just run it and any automations using the C5.

But you're still going to want to clean up your other hub's ghosts...

You would not have this issues with a Zigbee lock.

No, but you might have other issues, depending on the lock.

Zigbee locks do not have the same pairing requirements as Z-Wave.

I've used the 3 major brands (Yale, Schlage and Kwikset) of Zigbee locks and never had a single issue with any of them, across 2 HE hubs and several other hubs prior to switching to Hubitat.

Yup, specifically, there’s no equivalent of whisper mode. Secure pairing that is equivalent to S2 occurs automatically.

I’ve had two Yale zigbee locks, save one Kwikset. No issues in 3+ years.

Same, one Zigbee lock paired w/out issues. But one Schlage Z-Wave lock also paired w/out issues.

So, clearly there is something special about me.

My Zigbee locks occasionally drop off the network. Sometimes they repair easily, other times, not so much.

I ordered a Kwikset 914 lock. As previous posts recommended (which didn't work) moving the hub next to the lock. Did anyone have to do that with their zigbee lock?

Nope. Shouldn’t have to. See my post above.

Are you saying you now can’t pair your new Zigbee lock? If so, you might want to step back for a bit, then reset your HE hub and start from scratch. You’ve come here reporting issues with both Z-Wave and now Zigbee, which seems to indicate you’ve got a bigger issue at hand or you are simply doing things that you shouldn’t be which is causing your issues.

Which is typically indicative of a Zigbee mesh issue.
