Zen55 Driver and Hubitat

Just got Hubitat C8 and Zen55 and downloaded and imported the driver. Once it is imported into Hubitat, what happens next? Am I missing something. Thanks.

Please provide your hub model (C7, C8, etc.) and its platform version from Settings>Hub Details.

Put the device into pairing mode then under add device>>z-wave click start z-wave inclusion

If I created my own rules already. Does the driver essentially create the rules for me? Also, when the zen55 is connected, is there no light displayed on the unit?

correct the led will only flash a certain sequence for pairing/programming. That should be in the manual.

The driver does not create the rule. Once the device is attached and you confirm it's working (you can do this through the device's page) then you simply build your rule around it.

something like "if smoke detected then turn on light" You can make it as simple or complicated as you want to.

On a side note, as I went to the driver page to take a look at it, I thought I'd hit Refresh: failed health status, lol. Exercised alarms...nada. The thing is in a ceiling box, ugh.

Check if firmware is up to date on it, I think one of the updates was supposed to fix an issue with it going offline.

It was solved in my other thread. I cycled the breaker. That brought the device back to life. I've since made a Rule to notify me if it goes off line as well as added a dashboard tile. Again, as I said in other thread.

Yeah but if your firmware is outdated its probably going to do it again, that was my point.

Interesting. I'll check it out, for sure.
If out of date, I'll be upgrading the firmware on an LR device.
Is that procedure same as it's been: exclude lr device, include as non-lr device, upgrade firmware, exclude non-lr and then re-include as lr?
A recent thread seems to indicate a direct upgrade still doesn't work.

I may have a way to do it without excluding.... stashed for a rainy day.

I like the offline rule. Can you explain how you wrote that rule?

You use custom attributes of the device as a trigger in rule machine.
If you're using @jtp10181 's driver, you should get healthStatus as an attribute.
This is mine:

Bingo! I need 1.30...I'm on 1.20. Wish me luck. You know, it just occurred to me that I'll have to take off the ceiling box cover, if I can remember which one, lol, to exclude, include, etc. Maybe I'll try @hydro311 's approach and try it overnight, although he has yet to be successful.

It took like 5 minutes!
Of course, my laptop locked up during the process.
First time in a long while that's happened.
Whether it's related, who knows...I kind of doubt it.
When I restarted, it was complete!
How about that? I'm on a roll.

Thank you for providing this. Iā€™m still trying to learn the lingo and how to make it all work. Please feel free to send along any other helpful advice, rules, triggers, and/or conditions, for using the Zen55 and getting the most out of it. Iā€™m waiting for the house to be empty to test the smokes and see what notifications come.
