Z-Wave radio stops working

So for the past week I keep having to unplug my hubitat elevation once a day in order to get z-wave to start working again. It works fine for about a day then. Just stops working... all devices..

Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting this? Clicking on/off shows the event in the logs but no z-wave device can be reached until I do a power cycle (unplug device, then plug back in).

Thanks!

Have you updated to the most recent hub firmware?

There is a way you can have the hub reboot automatically, but you should not have to do that.

You might want to open a support ticket if the staff do not respond here.

Yeah latest version.. Hubitat Elevation® Platform Version
2.2.8.156

I was also hoping to not have to setup an auto-reboot..

I do have two hubs in a mesh... But only this one is setup to communicate with the z-wave devices.

Are you using C5 or C7 ?

Not sure if you’ve seen this ? - C5 zwave stops with only 2 Devices connected

It's the C7. Just got it in the past month or two.

Do you have any power metering devices or multi-sensors? Some of those have been known to be very chatty and overwhelm the zwave radion on the C7, which then causes the symptoms you describe.

Might try unplugging or pulling the batteries on them temporarily to see if it helps.

I was running my zwave net fine until this version for months now. Today after upgrade on C7 I had to unplug and I’m trying to see if it works again…

After power cycling it worked a bit now everything is unresponsive on 2.2.8.156

Yeah it's been happening the last update or two for me.. Before that I had never had this issue and I was running the same devices the whole time.

I have a few multi-sensors and power monitoring devices.. I will see what I can turn down/off to test.

I did a quick investigation… looks like it was somehow related to my Aeotec Nano Dimmer which I changed yesterday it’s setting to send the full report… now it’s reporting only power (default) and zwave started working again (it seems)

I'd also throw out a couple of things... You're unplugging a lot. This leads to database corruption. You should download your latest backup, do a soft reset and apply the backup you downloaded to your pc. This will ensure a healthy database. Also how does your z-wave table look?

I can still shutdown the hub from the settings menu before powering off. So it's not an unsafe shutdown.

Can you post a screenshot of your settings, zwave details page? There's probably a device that is causing the issue.

Still couldn't hurt in case of db corruption
