[WITHDRAWN - Use the new Broadlink integration by @tomw] NATIVE Broadlink RM/RM Pro/RM Mini/SP driver

The problem is that I am learning the 'Power' code for the cable box remote. That only turns on the TV when run.

Do I have to disassociate the TV from my cable remote to do this? Does the remote send a different code when it's been linked to a device?

I have other remotes for a different cable box which have separate buttons for the cable box and the TV with a master Power button, but this one only has one Power button.

So, I finally figured out how to get the code I needed.

The power button works in the BroadLink app to turn on the cable box, and I have a second BroadLink mini in another room. So I moved them together, pointed one at the other, and recorded the code by pressing the cable box power button in the app.

I used my Harmony Hub and Remote to program my Broadlink/HE combo, never looking back now...good bye Harmony.

Need some assistance please. I have an RM3 configured and working on Hubitat. I want to send discrete TV power on and off codes (rather than a power toggle, which is working fine). I've found some IR codes online (since it's not possible to learn the discrete on and off codes using the IR remote, because it only had a power toggle button - yeah, annoying). However, the codes I've found don't appear to be similar in format to the ones that do work....

17/74/Power On
0000 006D 0000 0020 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0679 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0679

Whereas the format of the Power (toggle) command inside the app. that does work is like this...

2600EE000A3B0A1909190A1909190A19093C093C0A19093C0919091A09190A3B0A19090005EF0B3A0B1809190A190A19093B0B180A19093C0A180A3B0B3A0B3A0B18093C0A0005AA0A3B0B1809190A1909190A19093C0A3B0A180A3B0B1809190A19093C0A180A0005EF0A3B0A180A1909190A19093C0A180A19093C0A180A3B0B3A0B3A0B180A3B0B0005A90B3A0B1809190A1909190A19093C0A3B0A180A3B0B1809190A19093C0A180A0005EF0B3A0B180A1909190A19093C0A180A19093C0A180A3B0B3A0B3A0B180A3B0A0005A90B3A0B180A1909190A1909190A3B0B3A0B18093C0A180A1909190A3B0B1809000D0500000000000000000000

How do I get the discrete power on and off codes to work on the RM3? Or find a format that will work? I have tried simply removing the spaces in the IR code above and that didn't work.

Thank you!

girlfriend,
I bought a broadlink RM4 mini last year, to which I connected a JBL SB250 (the remote control broke down) and now I use it with HE through a philips hue dimmer remote control, now it works via IFTTT, but with a delay of 3-5 seconds, does anyone have an idea how I could integrate better, what I could use, I saw that RM4 mini is not yet supported by HE :frowning:

thanks,
nick

I seem to remember that there are ways to make the RM4 work. These are most likely documented in this thread.

Hi, I added the driver and the app, but cannot find the RM4mini, I suppose need to restart to factory reset Broadlink and follow that step, correct? In this case do you think I will loose the remote that is already added?

thank you,
Nick

Hi

Have a room in house that is heated with mobile oil heater. It has an IR remote. I was looking at buying a temperature sensor and a RM3 mini, so that if the temperature dropped, it could turn up the heat via an IR command and vice versa. I am assuming that if I teach the RM3 the IR codes then these will be become accessible via my HE and this driver so that I can build the rules.

Is this correct? Thanks.

Hi and back again,
finally bring my RM4 mini to HE, and start to add the button from JBL SB250 surround, but i have some problem , learn ON/OFF button, Volum UP, Volum Down

I want to use with a Philips hue dimmer with 4 button, create a "button controller":

The button "JBL ON/OFF" is working OK ( :sunny: ) but "Volum UP/Down" do not send nothing....i check the led from RM and seems to receive the command (led is blinking) but nothing happend.
I tested the code direct from app and nothing happened.

and this is the log:

any idea how to fix this?
Thanks for answer,
Nick

Correct. I have done something similar and it works great.

It sounds like it didn’t learn the code properly. You may need to try again.

Hi Sebastien,

deleted all device and pairing again (yesterday cannot delete IR learned :frowning: ).
now seems to working OK.

what I see, cannot pairing with old wifi (2.4 g), HE did not find RM4, so I activate another wifi and join there and seems now to work fine.

question  it is possible to learn some IR code from any remote and order some HE device? If the answer is YES how?

thanks,
Nick

It should be, yes. I have various devices setup and though it can sometimes be difficult to get them learned, it has worked for me.

I’m not sure what you mean by this. Once a code has been learned, it can be used within HE to send commands from the Dashboard, Rules, etc.

I mean, when I learn 4 IR code from X remote if I can use Rule Machine when I push that 4 button to close/open some switch/light/Mode... Etc... From HE....

Ah, you are wondering if HE will “know” that you pressed the “4” button on your remote, and have that trigger actions...

The answer to that question, unfortunately, is no. The RM4 only looks for IR signals when one is being programmed, so HE will not know that the button is pressed on your remote.

It is an interesting idea though... I have not seen this yet, but there might be something out there that does that.

Yes Sebastian that I mean.
You have a code IR and a name, of you create a Virtual device (switch) and with Rule Machine to order when you push the button from remote to do something. (reverse what we do now )

Thank you for the answer,
Nick

So jw I found the zips, there are two zips with multiple files, which ones should I use? Theirs a broadlink v0.50 and rc hvac 0.26, and the rc hvac has a parent child and thermostat. Didn't realize the device had a built in thermometer but cool beans man.

@Sebastien Thanks for the guidance. RM3 turned yesterday and now controls my heater via Google Assistant.

Also thanks to all the other guidance in this thread - helped me with the install and configuration on my HE. Just need my temperature sensor and I am all set.

Hi i'm trying to learn IR code from this remote, but so far i only manage to get the code data for power button. Anyone can share the code data for SOURCE and LEFT/RIGHT function?

You sure it's all ir? Some remotes only have the power button as ir
