Why can't we use variables within dashboard icon fields (specifically url fields)

Can someone explain to me why we can't use a variable within a dashboard image url field?
or any other dashboard field for that matter???

all I want to do is to be able to dynamically change the image based on a variable...
yes, I tried the conditional image server... that doesn't work.. ugh..

HELP!!!!!!

I have never tried to do this myself, but wonder if something in here might help?

however I don't see anything relating to css style Sheets supporting Hubitat variables.

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to display but there are 5 variable templates in the dashboard. Boolean, decimal, number, string and time.
