When to Quit - Part 2, Zigbee Revenge

C8 platform 2.4.3.164....

After successful inclusion of the last three Aqara contact sensors, the whole shebang stopped working yesterday less than 30 min after I celebrated sensor inclusion success.

No sensors appear on the Zigbee net graph anymore, but I get an "unable to fetch" error. No automations connected to sensors work any more.

Powered-off hub and let device sit for 20 min, repowered and still no joy. The devices are in the list, but no function anymore.

Is it soft reset time?

Thanks

Did you shut it down first? If not. you should do a shutdown with repair database option selected.

Indeed I went thru the โ– โ– โ– โ–  down process...

Let me try the repair dB option...

Thanks!

The repair dB option is on reboot and I did that check, still no Zigbee net.

Crap

There is an app available on Hubitat Package Manager,

It is a great tool for a lot of zigbee things. The main one is to view the overall layout and signal strength of your connected devices. It might be useful for you to see if you are having any issues with low signals or aren't connecting through another device.

I'll look that app up once I get HPM to install... It's sticking on security login right now so I'm going through community posts on how to get HPM to work

You might find it a useful option to turn off login security for a day or so.. you want get a few more successes I suspect.

You can always turn it on tomorrow or next week after you've got some confidence that things DO work. Then change one variable at a time.

Go into settings Zigbee- disable the Zigbee radio, reboot the hub, then reenable the Zigbee radio. While you're in there make a note of the 16 bit Zigbee PAN ID. If the PAN ID changes it can cause issues.
And what Zigbee channel are you using and what is your Zigbee power set to?

Channel 25 and bumped power up to 16

Why? Increasing radio power will also increase noise. Iโ€™d recommend leaving this at 8, and increase the reach and robustness of your zigbee mesh using repeaters.

  1. What 2.4GHz WiFi channels are in use by your router?
  2. How many zigbee repeaters are paired to your Hubitat? And what brand/model are they?

25 is excellent according to reports, however most folks set power to 8, but you may have a unique environment. If power is too high the hub can contact the device, but the tiny device can not reach back to the hub. I'd say try power of 8

All 2.4g wifi is on channel 1

Contact sensors are Aqara T1s

I'll slide power back to 8

12 Zigbee Contact sensors

Yup...this.

I asked this on your other topic, and I don't remember for sure but I don't think you answered.

How many zigbee repeaters are paired to your Hubitat? And what brand/model are they?

Battery operated sensors are not repeaters, they need Zigbee repeaters, which are Zigbee light switches, plugs, outlets, and dedicated Zigbee repeaters.

You are not going to have a reliable Zigbee network w/out some repeaters.

I get one dedicated repeater tomorrow and the plug types as well... Aeotec repeater to the pool room, plug in the garage and one near the five doors I have upstairs...
Think might fix the issue....?

Copy all... The net seems to have died when I added three contact sensors in the big pool room abt 50' from the hubitat

Depending on your buildings structure (lathe & plaster, wood studs/wallboard, cinderblock, brick, etc., you may need a couple repeating plugs between your hub and the contact sensors in the pool room.
