Did you mean HE? I use HA, but my projects are all on HE, unless I need HA to connect a device for the HE project.
HA = Home Automation.... So whatever platform you want...
I have, zero, zilch, sod all in any pipeline, but I will continue to try and discover projects
Hence my post... Some interesting posts around and ideas I want to pursue,,,, but nothing grabs me enough....
Ah. Home Assistant is so ingrained now it is all I think of when I hear HA.
I was actually just thinking I need a new project, I've wrapped up everything I was working on this summer. Spring was building a smart greenhouse, summer was about garden irrigation valve systems and fountain fillers, along with optimizing my AC controller via Broadlink.
I would like to find something for fall... I'm just running out of things to automate at this point.
Find me some cheap Solar Panels, a written off EV with a perfect HV battery and the pipeline will very likely have to be replaced with a larger diameter one
So I am not alone... ![]()
To add to the possibilities.... Options could include:
I think a certain Mr Trump would give us thousands free if we could only ask him
Feel free to ask him, but I am more interested in meetings amongst HA enthusiasts....
Bu if you think Donald's ideas could expand our own, then I'm happy to hear them
I’m working on a solar PV system that redistributes the the power over POE to internal devices in a hub and spoke topology. Solar panels connect to EF Delta 3 Pro as my hub, EF River 3 or Delta 3 as the end devices. POE to send power to the spoke devices because i already ran good cat cables to all the places.
I use HA to automate adjustments in amps on the end devices so i can send power to where it’s needed, when it’s needed while maintaining a solid reserve for power outages with weather forecast in mind. I also use HA to build graphs for solar forecast PV input and PV output. The whole system also works as a dual source UPS for anything connected to the spoke devices. It’s not incredibly efficient, but it’s taught me a lot about AC and DC power and PV design, while slightly lowering my power bill.
I’m still using the MASSIVE amount of data you can collect to tweak the panel layout and correct poor panel purchasing decisions. Unless inflation goes nuts (knocks on wood), there is no way this system will pay for itself. Though if the TX power grid goes down again i’ll be in a MUCH better situation.
Don't you mean when?
Darn! All the Home Assistant posts will have to be edited.
I nominate @sburke781 to accomplish the task.
Perhaps I will just edit the title...![]()
What a relief. For a moment I though that from now on, Hubitat Elevation would have to be abreviated with HEHA and Home Assistant with HAHA (no exclamation point)
Multiple HE/Hubduino projects are inline. Few already successfully completed.
I have 2. First is to get Smartwings blackout blinds. I'm thinking of Thread about I don't have a Thread Border Router ("TBR").
Which brings me to #2, I understand that Apple is expected to announce a revamped Apple TV today (Sept. 9, 2025) and it can be my TBR.
I just installed 6 Switchbot Blind Tilts. I did not want to use these because they require another hub to send out the bluetooth commands to open and close the blinds. I swore I would never have another hub, never say never. When I found that the switchbot hub used Matter and that I could use Apple Home for the UI and also HE for automations I but the bullet. These Blind Tilts are just what I needed. I have not used Matter at all or any automations for blinds in the past so I had to do my homework. Now the blinds come open when the house wakes up and close at sundown. I couldn't be happier with this setup.
