Continuing the discussion from Static IP address Recovery Options - No Button, No Hard Reset:
This is a great question and we have updated the documentation accordingly. The Soft Reset process erases the main database on a hub, which contains hub settings, device list, drivers and any custom code. It does not reset the Z-Wave or Zigbee radios nor removes the cloud data, such as hub registration.
