Variable math for button so it knows when I push it

sorry to be a pest, I have been cleaning up some of my rules and deleted a needed one by mistake. I need a little help setting up a verbal and a rule so a button will know when it's pushed to control a door, if possible please. I am no longer Beta please help

I'm not clear on what you're really trying to do. Do you just want to know when the button is pushed? If so, you don't need a variable for that. You can just trigger on the event, then do whatever in the rule actions (Button Controller might be easier, especially if you have multiple events you care about for the same button, but RM can work, too). If you want something else, that isn't clear to me from the description, so more explanation would be helpful.

Note that you can restore from a hub backup.

You can still get help in beta. If it shares content that is not yet public, you'll just need to keep it in the beta forums.

I have had to do this in the past. You can backup what you have then go back to a date that has the original rule. Load that backup export the rule, then re-load your current backup. Import the old rule.

This assumes, of coarse, you keep backups that go back far enough. Disk space is cheap these days and I have backups of my hubs all the back to Jan of 2022.

Also a good idea to export all your rules from time to time. That way you can import without having to do a complete restore.

its a fibaro button its never really worked without the vearable math rule to count how many times the button is pressed. I think it may be too late for a restore I am afraid.
the Hub Variable used to count when the button was pushed then I just had a couple of simple rules saying not to open the door if the contact was open and another rule saying when the button is press to open the door for 22 second if the door is close else close the door. I did get help originally to set up this rule but everything has changed and I can't even find the old message that I originally guided me

Is this the thread you were looking for?

Thank you for finding this I will follow from the old notes and restore my hub to the backup I made before trying to find a old backup
