Use phone as webcore presence sensor

Hi,
I would like to use the virtual webcore presence sensor and I would like it to use my phone or the Hubitat app or life360 app to get the location.
Is there a way to replace something in the driver to use a specific device? For now it seems not connected to any device and not sure if I would get the webcore app since it’s only for location…
Thanks!

You will want to check out and install  Owntracks.
Hightly developed and reliable. I use it in WC for all my phone presence.

Your question isn't quite clear to me, as these parts are at odds with each other:

The webCoRE app allows you to create a webCoRE presence device that can be used with any app on your hub, including webCoRE itself. This is just one option to get a presence device on your hub.

Other options include the Hubitat mobile app or (if you can get it to work--I would not otherwise recommend it at this point) Life360, as you mention; or OwnTracks, as mentioned above. These are not the only options.

In any case, presence devices on Hubitat are just like any other devices: they have current states (attributes) and generate events when this state changes (present or not present). These can be used in any app, including webCoRE pistons.

Did you create a "virtual" device using the webCoRE presence sensor driver? If so, that is not going to work no matter what you do; it needs to be the device the app creates.

Otherwise, you don't need this particular driver to work with presence in webCoRE -- just authorize one of your existing presence devices for webCoRE, or have one created using one of the above methods if you don't already have one set up.

Thanks for reply!
I would like to use ‘places’ inside webcore settings. But I must use the webcore presence sensor to get the capability…
So, I could try to add this capability to another driver or maybe turn the capability inside the virtual webcore presence sensor into something else to be able to set it manually. So I could use the coordinates from another presence sensor to set those inside the webcore driver…

The reason why it would not work it’s because there is no device to feed the data.. so if I could use any other to do so it should works…

You might browse this thread.

My presence sensor works great. Actually I use life360 , my phone and Hubitat and I set a piston which use any of it to determine the right state…

I just would like to use the webcore places inside settings… it’s only working with capability from the webcore presence sensor… so if I could change the capability to be feed manually from my other presence sensor it would work I think..

Like, if my phone coordinates change, set the webcore sensor coordinates equals to the phone s one…

Then it should know if it’s inside the places, except if it’s calculated from inside the webcore app…

I was struggling w both as well went to virtual presence sensor 2 weeks ago and has been flawless w iPhone.
