The pre-order price has popped up to $139 ($10 off $149), from the original pre-order price of $119.
Or lots of grease
I just measured the motor... it's 1 1/4" high and 2 1/8" deep. Those are the two key dimensions. The motor casing actually has a "hump" down the middle where the tilt rod passes through. The hump adds another ~3/16" to the height.
It's also 4 11/16" long, but their specs say you have to have 6" in between the drums. Not sure why.
Hope that helps.
Wow...that's tight. I sure hope my blinds are easier to fit it. I gave my dremel to a friend years ago and never got it back. [eek!]
I have two on my pre-order to try out w/our blinds and see if they'll work. I sure hope I won't have to grind things down for every blind.
Oh, oh, oh...so excited!! They are on their way to me.
How's it going...did you get things set up, and working well, or ?

Darn...you're beating me by a day.
I have one coming Friday, one Saturday.
Oh man...that sucks.
Since I don't have my kit yet/haven't seen all the parts, it's hard to tell from the pics. Is it doesn't fit as in "No way this will ever work!" or "All I need is a little bit that way..." ?
Getting nervous about the fit from what I'm reading. Wait I haven't even gotten a shipping info yet. Maybe by the time they ship mine, the fit issue is addressed
Also feeling that nervousness, as I have two coming, today and tomorrow supposedly. If they don't fit I'm gonna be bummed. I have very normal/standard blinds from Home Despot...
Spoke too soon, I just got a delivery notice.
Any luck getting your iBlinds to fit?
Both of my kits arrived today while I was out of town!!
I'll be back tomorrow but unlikely I'll have time to spend on it until Monday. Gonna kill me to have to wait until then.
ROFL
OK, so maybe that was a little bit of hyperbole...I guess I might not die.
Wife and I came home, and she decided to do some "wife-things" on her own for a while, so that legally exempted me temporarily from the "It's the weekend so stop playing w/your toys" amendment.
So of course I did a quick iBlinds unboxing and test fit, and am charging the iBlinds battery for tomorrows first install.
TL;DR: In terms it fitting my blinds housing, I have the same issue as others above...the motor is just a little too tall, so the top rolled edge of the blings housing will need adjusting - either bent upwards, or dremel the part of the roled edge that hits the top of the housing. My dremel is MIA so if the bending approach doesn't seem like it's going well I'm going to hit up some neighbors to see if they have one.
OOBE pics below - 'cause it really happened!
Nice packaging. But...did I really spend over $100 for this tiny thing!?
Accessories unboxed. Battery, charger, adapters, USB charging cable, and Manual control button/charging port unit.
Close-up of combo charging port/manual control button. The manual control is a nice new feature, but will be difficult to reach when the blinds are installed unless you're tall/have long arms. Especially in our case as the first blind I'm automating hangs behind a couch.
Motor has include/exclude buttons, as well as the CLBR button that I believe does a full reset if the inclusion button doesn't get it to include.
Working end of the motor with USB port, battery port (red), and solar panel port.
Couple of pics from the getting started/install guide that comes in the box. The tube adapters on the right are if you have a tilt shaft that doesn't fit the default tilt adapter.
Checking the fit...like others the motor unit is a tiny bit too high...I had to bend the rolled edge inwards/up to force the motor in a little way. There is room inside the motor housing for iBlinds to make the case just a little shorter...wish they had done that, but looks like I'll be able to get it in.
Looking forward to tomorrow's stealth install. Going to set it up on one of our blinds while my wife is working in the office, and then surprise her with it when it's done.
She will pretend to be highly interested and impressed by me and my clever new automation, and ask me to open and close it several times and say "Wow, that's neat!" In return, I've been listening raptly to her endlessly evolving design plans for her new walk-in closet she's planning as part of a remodel. Good relationships work that way, give and take.
