For the most part the upgrade worked with exception to many Zigbee devices, 4 light strips from Derled Zigbee3 ZC05M Will not reconnect to the new hub, I tried removing them and then adding them no luck, reset them to factory settings left them unplugged for a while, changed channels on the ProC8. nothing works. Any suggestions they worked perfectly with the C8 and a C7 Hub. Any suggestions would be apprectitated
Set C8-Pro to Zigbee channel 25.
Confirm Zigbee power level is 8 or 12 (either is likely fine).
Shut down the hub. Pull power after the LED goes red, Wait 30 seconds and then restore power.
Try again to join the troublemakers. If they continue to resist joining, you can try the process below.
Switched to channel 24 at 12 power got it all working however had to reinstall all the other zigbee devices 30 of them was a pain they should tell you channel 20 is worthless a loss of 8 hrs of a day!
Thanks for your suggestion appreciate it!
im on channel 20 on both of my c8 pros upgraded from c8.. no issues.. i wonder if maybe your wifi is interfering.. i have 56 zigbee devices on one of my two hubs..
Likewise. No issues here either. As you point out, the stability of any zigbee channel depends on the wireless environment at the location.
also not sure what you mean by reinstall but zigbee should re-pair in place.. not necessitating removing totally.
Glad you're back up.
20 isn't worthless...20 works for many (as @kahn-hubitat notes), but in some cases (like yours, possibly) 20 can be problemmatic and switching to another channel can alleviate problems. The hub will usually show an alert about using channel 20, you likely didn't have it running on that channel long enough for the warning to trigger.
Thanks for the clarification
When I mean repaired I had to go to each device, put the Hub in Zigbee paring mode, do a reset on the device and it found most of them and connected with the old set up. It was the only way to get the devices to the new channel. Otherwise they did not connect for me.
Might be wifi interference that caused it but the hub is far enough from the eero router that it should have not been a problem. Any way all working now and it is faster some glitches here and there .
thanks for the help.
Be aware that some eero router models have a built-in always on zigbee radio. That can potentially be another source of interference.
ya as I said u should not have had to reset . you should have just been able to pair in place. ie start pairing mode and hit whatever buttons on the device to put it in pairing mode. the hub would have recognized that u were pairing an already paired device. no changing rules etc
This is indicative that when you did the migration you didn't pick the zigbee radio. When you do the migration you need to pick the zigbee and z-wave radio buttons.
