We are having some electric UFH installed and want to be able to hook it into HE. Can anybody recommend UFH controllers that have z-wave or zigbee compatability? Or can I integrate, say, a Prowarm thermostat over wifi?
Also - our boiler controller may have gone 'phut'. Is the Drayton Wiser controller Z-wave enabled? Any experiences of this or alternative units?
I have set up and connected a Hive thermostat and controller to HE with the help of a community driver if that's of any help to you. It's a simple on / off of the central heating based on room temperature, but you could also set up a schedule either on the Hive controller or on HE.
Cheers
Ron
Thanks. After my post I found the community driver. In the absence of effective presence sensors, I'm not sure how useful on/off is. Where I would like to get to is having the heating on all the time, but having Sonoff TRVs in each room manage the heating with a schedule for each room, but have an overriding 'presence' switch, so that if nobody is home, all schedules are suspended and resume when presence it detected again. No idea of how you can reliably do presence though. I've read that using mobiles is fraught with issues.
Based in East Sussex. We have 45kw of electric underfloor heating broken down to 10kw areas. We use Shelly1 to automate based on the room temperature and a time schedule.
We have 50 Honeywell HR92 controlling radiators, 8 Shelly1 controlling towel rails and various motion detectors that alert us to movement or the lack of it so that cleaners know they can turn around rooms.
The secondary return for hot water is on a Shelly1
All of this is controlled via Alexa or EZ Dashboards.
Wish I have gone for Water UFH not electric.
