Ubiquiti G4 Doorbell integration?

Ah. I'm afraid I don't know of anything that fits that bill. Doorbells are weird.

Good Luck!

S.

I just installed the Sage device last weekend, it works but takes a while for sage -> hubitat -> play message on google home minis.

Randomly decided to check out home assistant, which has a direct integration with Unifi Protect and can read doorbell button presses. This is almost immediate, doorbell press -> HA -> play sound on google home mini. I'm going to remove the Sage sensor entirely.

If you aren't already on HA otherwise it may be a good option.

Thank you so much for building this! Does your plugin leverage the real-time API that the home bridge plugin uses, or do you poll the controller periodically for motion?

It uses the real time events API. It does not poll for events.

I'm trying to do the same thing with my hubitat. I have the Unifi G4 Doorbell. Working fine no issues. Then today I got the Sage DoorBell Sensor I can't get the RM to work to send a message to my phone.

I just checked my transformer. It's 16V 10A. Should I buy a bigger transformer that has more amps? Possible not enough amperage?

I did try all the different drivers. Including the one built into HE, I have added 2 other drivers and the same result.

Definitely has enough amperage already. That is not the problem.

Is the device in HE and updating correctly? Trying to understanding if the problem is with getting the device working, or getting RM working.

@TechMedX when I press the button nothing updates on HE.

Under Device details, I can see it updating.

(take out 1 of the hs from the link above. For some reason won't let me add images)

I've also tried removing it and re-adding it back into HE same result both times.

If I run the event through RM it sends me a message so I know that part is working. Just nothing happens with I press the button

You might have it wired up wrong. I know had to play with it, Check this video.

Mine is pretty much the same. I had Front Trans and Rear labelled on mine.

The Doorbell rings when I press the button. No issue there.

That looks correct. Does the the sensor register any events on the device page? and does you top section look like this?

Using the built-in driver I have this

I can pair it with no problem.

The only thing I can think if is the amperage. 10amps is that enough for the G4 and the sage? Also it's 16v. Would 24v be better? I can change the chime box if needed.

Have you clicked config, and enter 1 then click push? worth trying

I tried that and it was pushed type digital.

I just tried with the button after that and nothing happened. Nothing registered.

10amps is apparently not enough for some people especially at night with IR light. 24v and 40amps is recommended.

@Navat604 you were correct. It wasn't enough. I got a 16v 30va and it worked right away with no issues.

Thanks again!

Hah, my doorbell just died yesterday. It dropped from the nvr at like 3am. Nothing on the screen. Power cycling and reset button does not help. And it's 135f on the outer housing.

It's way under an overhang, like 12ft, so it's essentially not exposed to any weather or direct sunlight.

I RMA'd it and they are sending another. This is in addition to the 3 G3 Flex cameras that I've had to RMA for water damage. Still one of the best camera systems out there.

That is awesome. Good tech with good customer service.

At the risk of seeming to spam the thread again, I wanted to mention that Hubitat recently enabled the features needed to run my UniFi Protect integration natively.

Just in case anyone wants to upgrade for easier setup, there are more details in this thread (the improvements were made possible in Hubitat version 2.2.8): Ubiquiti Unifi Protect cameras - #37 by tomw
