Twinkly Christmas Lights - Anyone Working on this?

I've have no time to pursue or investigate, but:

I would love this integration as well. Just a simple on/off to use it in automations would be great, without the need of Homekit or HA.

I just found the Twinkly lights and bought a few to see if they fit my Christmas design needs. They are a great product and I will be using them this Christmas. Hubitat integration (probably with webcore) would be awesome! The Twinkly app is confusing and appears to be missing some of the advertised functionality. It has some nice features, but seems to be limited for a seasoned DIYer.

I have some basic Twinkly on/off scheduling through Alexa routines but our seasonal "scene" adjustments are still manually stumbling through the app.

I just use the app. It is clunky to set things up, but I have muddled through for years. There is simple on/off scheduling available natively in the Twinkly app. I use that.

I did order a set of the christmas tree mini lights. I had what I thought was a very simple use case. I wanted to set them up to mimic old school christmas light colors. This is apparently a lot harder than it looks. It was not possible with Twinkly as there was no way to set custom colors and not have them fade, twinkle or anything else. Govee was more flexible and did allow this but they do not make mini lights, only ropes, and that ruins the aesthetic.

FWIW I agree with you. I don't know anyway to easily do that. You can do other really impressive effects, but it would be nice to mimic old-timey Christmas lights like that.

I don't recall if the Twinkly app included sunrise/sunset in the scheduling options. If that is available then I could see removing one layer of complexity. Over the past 1.5 years, I think that I used voice commands no more than twice.

I am not sure that I understand the goal or what was tried, but I would be surprised if it was not able to be emulated with a mix of colors, patterns, and effects.

I would have to go through our stored effects for more details. There is a mix of static, modest, and bling.

While tedious, the classic lighting scheme can be accomplished. I have used the Twinkly lights for a few years now and there have been improvements in the app and ability to make custom lighting effects along with the 3d mapping.

Firstly, one would want to map the lights in the Twinkly app. Then click on the gallery tab to get to the various canned effects. In the upper right there is the magic wand. With this you can β€œpaint” with narrow or broad brush strokes down to individual bulbs. Again, not easy, but possible.

I might try this, this Christmas season. Thanks.
