I've used my Honeywell TH8320ZW1000 since 2014. I still can control via Hubitat, but the Alexa control is giving me a downer. When I ask alexa to change the temperature, it changes the temp successfully but gives me the response that the device is Not responding.
I've had my eye on the Honeywell T6 Pro Series Zwave. I've searched throughout this forum for the Pros and Cons getting eye strain. I've looked at the others and am set on the Honeywell T6.
My criteria is Zwave protocol, Hubitat, and Alexa control.
Does anyone have any CONS on why I should NOT get the Honeywell T6 Pro ?
I just recently switched from 2 Lux KONOz (zigbee) thermostats to 2 T6 Pro Z-Wave thermostats, due to issues with the KONOz not working with the C8 hub. The only thing I don't like about the T6 thermostats, is how they use Cycles Per Hour (CPH) to maintain the set point temperature. The CPH can be changed, but I still don't like it. I get around this by using the Thermostat Controller app and use the temperature offset feature.
This is exactly the issue that crops up when using multistage A/Cs or heat pumps with the T6.
As @rlithgow1 points out, this is less of an issue with a multistage furnace. At least from the comfort perspective, and equipment efficiency perspective.
Also make sure you get the 700 version instead of the 500. When you pair it, do not pair with batteries. That way it will be a repeater. After it's paired you can put backup batteries in it and it can be used as a trigger (much like the ring v2 extender). Meaning if it changes from mains to battery that can be used to trigger something in hubitat.
Yup. Set the CPH to 3 for first stage heat and cool. If it feels too dry in the winter, raise heat cph to 4. If it feels too humid in the summer, decrease cool cph to 2.
If you don't already have one and would be ok with a used one, I bought one off eBay intending to replace my ecobee then learned about the bad multi stage support and changed my mind, I never opened the box...
If you're asking me, then no. I am still with Ecobee. The developer of Ecobee Suite got the Fan speed stuff working so I am all set. I have a T6 pro in the box that I ordered on eBay and found out about the not great staging while it was in-flight so I never opened the box and I need to get around to trying to sell it.
