@danabw , @John_Land , @WarlockWeary, @LearningHubitat.I tried each of these methods up to three times, and in every case, the hub was able to find the device but couldn’t initialize it properly. On the last attempt, it at least created a 000 node, but unfortunately, clicking on it doesn’t lead anywhere, and it’s not listed in the Zigbee device list.
At this point, I’m starting to think I may have received a faulty unit.
I believe your conclusion is correct. Like I said I got two bad ones (incorrect bulb configuration or internal programming) and my 3rd group is the ones I had difficulty getting paired. I believe they have had some issues with their zigbee versions.
That's what I have and they have both worked w/out issue from the start. Very happy w/them. I have them in two parts of my home, and use them as notification lights to tell me if any of a group of doors/windows are open.
That is great. I am glad you got the matter version to work. After connecting the zigbee versions have stayed connected and work great. Just a pain to get the second and third set going.
The few devices I have used that are commissioned via matter without a hub have had problems with becoming unresponsive. Some better than others. Not frequent but have happened. Have the matter versions of these lights stay connected great with no issues becoming unresponsive?
The devices I have brought in via matter through another hub (Aqara, SwitchBot) has not had that issue.
Yes, zero issues with them disconnecting or not responsive. Extremely reliable for me. Happy camper. Commissioned them via Google and then brought them in to my hub.
Dumb question. Have you heard anyone mention or would there even be a reason for the platform you use to commission the devices make a difference in how reliable they would be about not being responsive? I have used Alexa and Home Assistant with mine and had some issues with devices commissioned by both. I am assuming it is more of a device thing but I wanted to make sure.
