Yes it shows up with an IP
can you ping that ip from your laptop?
I don't know how to do that. Also the mac and I p binding is on
click start, type CMD and click the command prompt icon when it comes up. At the command line, type ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (where x is the ip address of the hub)
Working on it
type the word ping before the ip. Also you can use windows snip to copy and paste screen shots
Type o on the address let me try it again
put a space between ping and the ip (see my screen shot above)
I was able to ping it
It tells me corrupt database found. And prompts me to do a reset hub now.
ok go to 192.168.2.17:8081 (you will need the mac address from the bottom of the hub) and then click SOFT RESET mac addr format is xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
Do the soft reboot and then have the address ready?
the soft reset will repair the corrupt database and you can then set up after that. If the hub was already setup and had rules on it, you will have the option to restore the database from the onboard backup (s). If it's a new hub just start setting it up. Once you get going, go to yourhubip(the ip address) then click settings then click check for updates and update to the latest platform.
It's performing the reset.
It tells me the connection has timed out
Ok the fact that you're able to do this shows it's not a hardware issue. When shutting down the hub do it from the settings menu. If you just unplug power to the hub you risk corruption of the database.
How do I shut it down without unplugging it.
