I realize I should have done this the other way around, but just bought a Sony STR-ZA5000ES AVR.... Now wondering if anyone has a driver for this series Sonys? All I really need is to change toggle between two inputs and turn on/off
Good to know someone is interested. I have never written a driver, but I'm trudging through it now. Should work for all Sony Networked stuff.
Im a bit stuck. I have tried to reverse engineer a few apps that i already have like Sony TV, Daikin, and Roku. The only problem is that they all call their API's in different methods. What i'm trying to do is write a driver for my soundbar for hubitat to call the REST API to get powerstatus. After i get that rolling, i will add more capabilities like being able to change my subwoofer level, sound mode, etc. They have a pretty good
API and i am able to do all the functions I want in Insomnia.
I have a STR-DN1020 I'll be happy to test / use the driver.

Sony devices like receivers and soundbars should work with this driver. I have tested it on my sony soundbar and all listed functions should work on the compatible devices. This API also works on many other undocumented sony devices. This uses the REST API verses IRCC commands or SOAP calls that some other drivers use. I was not as interested in emulating button clicks, but wanted to know which value the device is currently to optimize settings. I can now change to nightmode and turn down the su…
I know this thread is 16 months old, but did you have any luck getting your STR-DN1020 connected to Hubitat? I didn't have any success with the Driver posted here.
