Sonoff Zigbee Smart Water Valve

Thank you.

  1. Installed Ikea Driver
  2. On Sonoff Valve device screen:
    a. Changed to this Ikea Driver in the Sonoff Valve Device Info
    b. Clicked Save Preferences
    c. Clicked Configure once
    d. Entered 1 in the "on with Timed off"
    e. Clicked on the "On with Timed Off" box. In Current States, the switch was off. When I clicked the above box, it changes to on, and the valve clicks. After about 8 seconds, the valve clicks again and the Current States switch: changes to off.
    f. Repeated e. five times, with the same reliable result each time
    g. Then I pushed the physical button on the Sonoff valve to open the valve. The Current States quickly report "switch: on" (actually far quicker than when I pressed the "On with Timed Off" button, which has about a 1 second delay). However, turning the valve on via this method does not result in any auto off. Turning the valve off with the physical button is equally quick and reliable to change the Current Status to "switch: off"

So I conclude it is controlled reliably and the state is reliably updated (but it does not auto off when the state is changed from the physical button on the device, which may be expected).

ETA: After the above, changed back to the Tuya Zigbee Valve driver, clicked Save Device, then clicked Initialize, Configure and Refresh (buy maybe did not click those three in that exact order...)

One other thing I noticed when I turned on logging - the device is quite chatty. Right now it is not scheduled to do anything - has just been sitting on my desk for an hour, but it looks like it checks in every ten minutes or less.

If you believe this is related to the beta platform, please report it in the beta forums. That's the whole point of volunteering to be a beta tester

Thanks!

It's the Beta. Let's wait for the next beta platform fix, and then we can discuss it in the Beta forum.

+1 on this. I have the same issue I believe. Just got 2 of these, both fail to report Open / Close when operating from the physical button.

They do update the irrigation start / end time (start for open valve, end for close valve). Additionally, if I send a refresh command to them, they update both the switch and valve states appropriately.

One of the devices I joined without the Tuya driver being added. I added the driver, manually swapped it over, then performed an initialize, configure, refresh (that order). Device was controllable, but on/off manual did not update.

I deleted the device (drop from zigbee, removed from hubitat), and rejoined, performed same ICR, same state. I then joined second device. If found driver right away. Performed ICR, same state.

This is what a manual open / close looks like

This is what a digital open close looks like

Even after 2 minutes, still no update to switch or valve states

Would love to get this fixed, open to any ideas / suggestions.

This is my workaround for now. Not ideal and noisy, especially once I get the rest of them in, but it works.

I'm sorry you are also have the same issue, but I'm also relieved, as obviously I am not the only one....Hopefully this can get fixed...

How does this solve anything, since the issue is the device does not report updated valve state when turned on/off via physical switch?

On my device, I observed that there is an update to the time values for the start stop of manual watering. By monitoring for any change to either of these values, you can trigger a refresh of the full device, which I found will capture the current state of the device, whether it is open or closed.

@kkossev Thanks for this. B-Hyve be gone. I just installed two of the Sonoff zigbee valves. First was recognized as device. Added the Tuya zigbee valve driver and it appears to work well. A pleasant surprise was when I added the second one it self selected the Tuya driver at install.

I had the exact experiance, second valve selected the tuya driver.

Any information about the "rate" state?
Sonoff water valve using tuya water valve driver by kkossev.
Works great, no rate.

There is a log entry per liter. Assuming it stays somewhat consistent you can easily calculate it for that particular use over a few minutes time span. On my sprinkler i'm getting roughly 8.3 L per minute.

Thank you, that is what i have done.

Hmmm Just took my SWV out for the summer season, and a manual button press does not update the dashboard like they use to. Seems I am not the only one. @kkossev is this a platform issue? Or was it resolved and I am a bit late to the game?

I have tried to install this device, and it worked initially. I was able to open and close the valve. Minutes later the options listed in the Commands changed and the device no longer responded.

Appears the SWV lost communication with the hub. Bring it closer to the hub and see if you can ping it and the health status changes

Is there a way to disable auto shut off of the Sonoff water valve after a water shortage exceeds 30 minutes? I'm using the Sonoff Zigbee Smart Water Valve with a low flow rate drip system and have been unable to get the valve to stay open for longer than 30 minutes.

I've been able to disable the irrigation duration option, but due to the low flow rate the rate appears as zero and the valve status is constantly showing as "shortage." Thus, the valve is closing at 30 minutes.

I’ve tried different drivers, including Tuya and Sinope, with no luck.

Checking in here after a year or so. Still have a HomeKit problem where it doesn't recognize when the valve has turned itself off via the inbuilt timer. HomeKit still shows the valve as on. I'm using the latest kkhossev Tuya Zigbee Water Valve driver. Is there any known working config at this time?

Just tested mine and it is working as expected (auto off set to 10 seconds, but shortened the Gif..)

Is the auto-closed state updated correctly on HE dashboards?
