Sonoff SNZB-02D Not pairing

I purchased 2 Sonoff SNZB-02D Temp/ Humidity Sensors (with display) and I can't seem to get them to pair with my C-8 Hub (2.3.6.146)

When I initially attempted to pair them (Add Device -> Zigbee), Hubitat detected the device but got stuck on initializing. I attempted to pair again (holding the reset button for 5 seconds) but the hub doesn't see them. I've tried removing the batteries, etc... but nothing seems to truly reset them back to factory defaults.

Any suggestions?

Try pairing it again very close to your C-8 hub, selecting the option "... avoid Zigbee 3.0 repeaters."

Any advice on C-7 hub?

I have the same issue. It's a C8 hub. I've tried selecting the mode to avoid repeaters and I'm within 6" of the hub. I've factory reset by holding for 10 secs. It is not recognized. I have 2 sensors and neither are pairing. Any other options?

Hi Chris,

Try this workaround pairing procedure with your C-8 hub. Make sure you are following the steps precisely, without skipping or altering the sequence.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried exactly as described with no luck. I tried multiple times. I also tried on a different zigbee channel after identifying a clear channel from the channel scan but no luck.

I have something like 14 of these devices. They were extremely difficult to pair. Here was my successful process:

  • Remove the battery from the sensor for at least 10 seconds.
  • Start pairing on Hubitat while within inches of the hub: Add Device, Zigbee (i.e., manually), Start Zigbee pairing; wait until the prompt says “pairing” and starts to countdown seconds.
  • Then re-insert the battery and hold down the pairing button on the device for 7 seconds (as I recall, it might be 10 seconds) until an icon on the front begins to blink.

If that doesn’t work, repeat the process, but add: Press and release the reset button quickly every 2-3 seconds until "Found a Zigbee device, initializing ..." appears (at which point, stop pressing the device’s button).

I hope this helps!

That worked right away. Thank you! Mark this as solved! It hooked right up to kkossev’s driver and appears to be functioning normally.

This suggests that the Sonoff directions for a factory reset are not correct or the factory reset is not performing a full reset.

I think this is the case, and that removing and replacing the batteries does the trick.
