Some Kasa switches lost after update

I've got a C8 and on Saturday I upgraded to 2.3.9.162. Later in the day I realized that some of my Kasa switches stopped working. I have maybe 20 kasa WiFi switches installed by the previous owner and I have had them working flawlessly for the last month since we moved in. They are a mix of K200 and K220 switches/dimmers. I would say maybe half of them are no longer responding with commands from the C8 but they all work perfectly on the Kasa mobile app on my phone.
When I go into the HE Kasa integration, it now only discovers about 9 of the kasa switches. The other 10 or so are still listed in my device page on the HE control panel, but are unresponsive.
I tried doing a reset(not full factory reset) on one switch and HE still doesn't see it. I didn't go further since the Kasa mobile app still sees them all.
Is this a pure coincidence with the new HE version? Any other ideas?
Thank you

Could not duplicate on my C8 running 2.3.9.162

  • From the Kasa App, check the HW and FW versions of the devices not being installed. (Kasa is now using two api's for the HS200 and HS220 - depending on hw version). See "Kasa and Tapo Switches, Plugs, and Bulbs - Hubitat Support".
  • First, eliminate the obvious that the Hubitat update caused the issue. Revert your hub to the previous version using the diagnostic tool and retest.
  • Some cleanup: Assure your router has DHCP reservations on all the devices.
  • Check and make sure the Hub and the devices are on the same SSID on your router. If not, make sure that one is not protected from the other.
  • Aside from updating, has anything else changed in your WIFI LAN configuration?

Thank you! I'll check this stuff tonight.
I'm still pretty new and still learning. Just in the last week or so I've read about DHCP reservations, etc. My question is if this were the problem, would the Kasa app on my phone still be able to recognize them? I'll start making reservations for all the wifi stuff. I already did this for the hub bc we had a few outages and everytime it would come back online with a new ip address.
Nothing else has changed with my wifi lan config... other than reserving an ip for the hubitat.

Yes. The phone checks this when you open the app (each time). Can not efficiently do that on the HUB.

I really appreciate your help but it seems to have solved itself. I've been gone for about a week and when I came back, all the kasa switches are working now. I'm going through and doing DHCP reservations for them all now.
