I'm not sure how to find what I am looking for in the various fora here, so, if this is a redundant qiestion, apologies offered.
The issue: I am a bit of a geek and so want to track the energy use of a few appliances here. There are all manner of plugs on the market that will do this. Some will allow monitoring through Hubitat, others will not.
The question: Which one(s) will allow me to see energy consumption and maybe history in Hubitat? I am agnostic regarding Z-Wave, Zigbee, or Matter, but as I am about to install a slew of Zigbee switches dimmers in the house, that may be a way to go. I also have some Matter things I tinker when when I have my propellor beanie on.
For any "large" (define that as you will) appliance or anything with any sort of a motor load, the Zen15 is the only thing I'd consider.
But in any case, familiarize yourself carefully with the plug's capabilities and limits - don't risk a fire just to save a few bucks. Along those same lines, I consider UL or ETL certification a requirement for any mains-powered device.
Zooz has replaced several of my ZEN15 that were connected to a gas dryer and an electric washer. I switched to ThirdReality and added one to each refrigerator, I used to have the Aeotec Gen5 but sold it when I went 100% ZigBee.
