Any one recommend an integration app for smart life….i have a bunch of WiFi landscaping lights i would like to pull in
Take a look at the following. Little bit of work to setup and will have to renew every 6 months (free) but other than that once it is setup you can control your wifi device via HE.
Aside from the above, the other option would be to add them to Home Assistant and then use Home Assistant Device Bridge to bring them into Hubitat.
[RELEASE] Home Assistant Device Bridge (HADB) -
Custom Apps and Drivers / Custom Drivers - Hubitat
And when in doubt... Talk to @kkossev ....
(although not sure how much he has had to do with Smart Life...)
Krassimir can definitely work impressive magic with Tuya zigbee stuff, but I don't think he's interested in tackling anything related to Tuya wifi.
ETA - if the wifi devices are Matter capable, then there may be some options to bring them in that way... I'm not sure, since I'm not using any Matter stuff myself yet.
Yeah, the more I thought about it... that is what I expected....
But you never know... ![]()
For switches and simple devices, you can use SmartThings cloud to use a linked service to pull them into SmartThings, and then use HubiThings Replica to pull them into Hubitat. No hub needed on the SmartThings cloud side, just the app and an account.
SmartThings, last I knew, does not pull in any complex Tuya cloud devices like dimmers. Are your bulbs dimmable, or just on/off?
I use this method for wifi switches way out in the yard where Zigbee does not reach, and it works well. Otherwise, I use Echo Speaks to run routines in Alexa directly, and that routine does what I want the device to do. This works for me to control my AC unit and a Humidifier. Others use virtual contact sensors or motion sensors, shared with Alexa, to trigger routines to control cloud devices connected to Alexa.
I have some Tuya/smartlife wifi eve lights and have integrated on/off control using the Tuya cloud driver.
It works well.
Hubitat release 2.4.4 includes this:
New Devices
- Added local support for Tuya switches, multi-plugs, dimmers, CT, and RGBW lights.
- Initial device setup is done though the cloud and requires a free Tuya developer account.
I've been using the Smartlife integration, do I need to do anything to get this local support?
TIA,
You need to add the app +add built-in app and select Tuya Integration (beta). Follow the instructions in the app. It will create new devices using the built in drivers. So you will have devices created with the app as well as in the Smart Life Devices.
Right now I have one RGB strip that will only turn on and off, no color control. So leaving it as is until other get a chance to see if they have any issues.
And fans that only turn on and off. No light or speed control but I was not expecting that.
Thank you, I'll give it a try.
Steve
Hi, i already have the cloud integration working, thought id try the "official" integration for local control, added the app but all i get is
Tuya Integration (beta)
Integration is enabled but NOT running
and I can't get passed this, i only have cancel or done as options?....I can't populate the app...
Not exactly sure why that would be. Think the guru's will need to weigh in. You may want to open a new topic under built in apps.
Otherwise I would try a few things. I did reboot a couple of times prior to trying to use the app, for other reasons. But before that I would remove the app (assuming you have that option bottom left) and re-add it. If that doesn't work maybe a reboor or shutdown.
After that I would post a new topic if that doesn't work.
Well, I put in my credentials and clicked on "Fetch cloud devices" and they appeared below:
Then I clicked on "scan LAN for devices" and after asking if I was sure, nothing happened. I was expecting the IP and status columns to populate, but nada. No new devices showed up either. Meanwhile back in the cloud integration I still have control over the devices.
Hopefully the gurus will weigh in! ![]()
Mine took a few minutes and showed up, had to refreshing page as well. Are you seeing any now that it has been hours?
If it is still not working, as I stated above best to open a new topic in the built in apps category.
Have you tried removing the app and readding?
Thanks for the reply.....Yes, quite a few times but with the same result, as you suggested I've posted on the APPS section....see what happens
