Sengled out of business!

@3dawgnight

This very useful informational post from Hubitat Staff is directly pertinent to your use case of Sengled bulbs:

Is this referring to Sengled in Canada?

Their US website looks like it’s open, for both sales and support.

I'm in the US, but this whole Sengled thing happened several months ago. All the stuff I read was that they were basically bankrupt, had no money to pay people, and as a result their service basically went kaput. I was hoping someone would swoop in and just buy them and get it up and running again, but no luck.

Thanks for the info, of course none of it matters if I can't get my hub to connect to my wifi...which I'm dealing with in another thread :slight_smile:

Hoping to come BACK to this thread soon!!

That’s a bummer. I always thought they made decent zigbee bulbs.

Better if you can use a cat-5 a least for setup .. then try wifi later :slight_smile:

I'm late to the party but this is terrible news. I don't think any bulbs should be repeaters. If someone physically turns them off you mess up your Zigbee mesh and devices need to find a new route. RIP SENGLED!

If you are like me and can't use smart switches due to various reasons, then smart bulbs are a must. In this case it is nice to have some good quality bulbs as repeaters. I know it is not popular but there are some bulbs out there such as Innr and Third Reality that work really well as repeaters. I'm this case there are some not terrible looking covers that can be placed over the switches to prevent the turning on and off. Mine are clear. They don't look great but they aren't an eye sore either.

However, I do use a lot of Sengled zigbee bulbs as well and I really hate to see them go. I actually ordered enough the other day to do replacements for all my lights that currently have them. The price went up the next day. It seems like those that are selling them are getting the word.
