Ring floodlight turn on with external motion or switch?

Has anyone been able to get the ring floodlight to turn on with a switch or motion sensor? I want a way to make the ring floodlight turn on when I approach my door from the inside.

I know I could use smartThings to do this, but I really don't want to bring that hub back online.

Take a look at this thread. Read from the post below and all the way to the end so you can see how it progressed before attempting. I got my floodlight working with this setup...but dont really use it for any automations. It was more of a "need to see if I could" scenario.

There is also a Beta integration that I believe was based on the above but I have not tried it...others seemed to have success with it.

I did review this one yesterday and I thought it only did motion events from the ring device. Granted it was 1AM when I was reading it so I'll take a look again.
