I had to resurrect this device to use on a project and noticed I couldnt reset the energy parameter. I tried switching to device and clear everything but that didnt work. Looking at above link I think there was going to be an effort to add the reset capability. Could I kindly ask the Hubitat developers @bcopeland to add the capability to the built in driver? I believe it is the Aeotec Smart Energy Switch driver.
Which attributes do you want to reset? Easy enough to write a quick app to zero out any/all attributes…
I don't have one of these to test with, but if it works like other Z-Wave devices (and I didn't make any typos), a "reset" command should find its way to this driver in a future release. May or may not be in 2.4.2 yet at this point.
Note that an app approach would work for some attributes, but the device itself -- at least with Z-Wave -- normally also tracks energy as a cumulative value and will continue to report (a continuation of) that unless it gets a Z-Wave "meter reset" command. No reason this couldn't be added to a custom driver in the meantime, though! (Including the above if that is what is/was being used on any of these.)
Yes! Hoping a reset energy button will show up during the next release! Hoping Mr @bcopeland could confirm ![]()
Thought I was zeroing out everyting when I made switched it temporarily to device and then clear all states. I also pressed all the other clear buttons but when I switched back the energy still showed as accumulated. ![]()
To be clear, I have already submitted this change...
Oh sorry, I didnt know what the process is and just wanted to make the original dev aware. Thanks for putting in the change request! ![]()
