Repeaters

Is there any way to tell which devices use which Zwave repeater?

I have 2 Aeotech 7 Range extenders - both are inside the Hub but I can't tell which devices are using them.

Under device details I see:

Data * deviceType: 260

  • inClusters: 0x5E,0x85,0x8E,0x59,0x55,0x86,0x72,0x5A,0x87,0x73,0x9F,0x6C,0x7A
  • deviceId: 189
  • manufacturer: 881

This makes me wonder if they are actually useful and being used. They use the Generic Zwave Repeater driver

Not built into the hub, no. It is possible with external sniffing tools or secondary controllers plus other software though.

Thanks - any links to the secondary controllers and software I could look at please

Your Z-wave will bounce through the most unexpected devices. So don't overthink it because you can't control it or change it, really. You can only be wise about it.

Check out this thread. I have one. It works well.
